JAMAICA, CARIBBEAN: Clint's remarks about his new wife, Gina, are causing consternation among the 'Married at First Sight' couples. Not only did the new groom's statements upset the rest of the group, but they also angered viewers at home.

Since 2014, the Lifetime reality television series 'MAFS' has been aiding singles in finding love — but not without a few bumps in the road. The idea of the show is that individuals are matched by specialists and meet for the first time at the altar. The married pair then select whether to stay together or divorce at the conclusion of each season. With the program now in its sixteenth season, viewers have just begun to get to know each of the cast members, and their shocking gaffe isn't helping.

Why did Clint's remark toward Gina irk viewers?

Clint says on Wednesday's episode of 'MAFS' that his new wife isn't his typical "type" physically. What that implies to him is that Gina isn't "athletic" or "slender."

The conversation starts off lightheartedly, with each couple discussing what they anticipated to see at the end of the aisle when they married without ever meeting. Kirsten commented that her husband's "bald head" wasn't what she expected, which elicited laughter from the rest of the ensemble. "But he checks off the boxes in all the other areas," she says. "So, forget the physical attraction. That'll grow."

Gina replies, "I have been in a relationship where that has grown later. It was one of the best relationships I've had, and it wasn't someone I was, initially — had a physical spark with." She admits that chemistry has been her toughest challenge with Clint, despite the fact that they "have kissed a couple of times."

Clint then throws the bombshell that Gina does not meet his fitness model criteria. "The physical component, typically, the girls that I've dated are very athletic, slender. That's just the mold that I'm attracted to," he claims. Clint later adds, "You know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And she said she doesn't like red heads, so here we are." No one replies to Clint's remark, and the cast appears perplexed by his revelation.

"My jaw is on the floor. I'm in shock right now. Like, read the room. You're sitting in a room with curvy women. What the hell, bro," Domynique tells the cameras.

'Just genuinely address the situation and apologize' 

Viewers quickly took to social media to slam him for his insensitive remark. One person tweeted, "Why Clint trying to act like Ginger is a slur when literally Red Head’s call themselves Gingers? And in comparison to body shaming. Lol get Donnie Thornberry off my screen." While defending Gina, one user wrote, "Clint is an ass. What Gina said was messed up but she didn't say it in front of all the couples. And once he found out that he insulted the other girls, he should have had enough humility to apologize." One person also quipped, "Clint: I’m very conscious about people’s feelings Also Clint: *in front of everyone* I date women who are more slender." Stunned at how Clint didn't care to apologize, a fan added, "Speaking of being an adult, instead of Clint apologizing for his comments, he keeps trying to take jabs at her. They are really better off if they called it quits right here it’s only going to get worse."

Fans demand an apology from Clint, "Your intentions are not so important here, Clint! Just genuinely address the situation and apologize. OWN YA SHIII." Thinking this is retaliation from Clint, a person wrote, "Oh Lord. Clint has hit full Karen Mode." Calling him childish a fan wrote, "This seems like a case of Gina can dish it out, but can’t take it. If Clint said it out of spite/retaliation, then he is childish & petty." Not happy with how Clint called Gina out in front of the rest of the group, a fan wrote, "Clint has been having his panties in a bunch for days now and was just waiting for his opportunity to take a jab at Gina. Doing it in front of all the couples is a bit much…"
