'Straight up mean and hurtful': 'MAFS' fans slam Gina after her 'insensitive' comments on Clint's looks

JAMAICA, CARIBBEAN: Gina Micheletti and Clint Webb's relationship on 'Married at First Sight' Season 16 began off well, but signs indicate that the two were not paired with love in mind. Gina's fans are especially dissatisfied when she mentioned on Wednesday night's episode that she isn't attracted to her husband's distinctive features while they were on their honeymoon.

Gina and Clint were explicitly picked to marry for 'MAFS' Season 16, but unlike other couples who were clearly matched based on compatibility, Gina and Clint appeared to have been purposefully paired together to create controversy. Gina and Clint were chosen for 'MAFS' Season 16 among four other Nashville-based couples. Gina and Clint, like their co-stars, have unique personalities and clear aspirations but have yet to find the appropriate companion to settle down with. The strongest clue that Gina and Clint were paired for maximum drama potential was during a difficult confrontation, similar to Kirsten Grimes' distaste for Shaquille Dillon's look.

Clint isn't physically attractive in Gina's opinion

Gina and Clint take a romantic trip to a waterfall where they intend to climb and swim. Unfortunately, the road washed away in portions due to a storm, thus their rerouting causes delays and uncertainty. They eventually arrive at their location, where they take in the sights of a waterfall, trek, and swim. Clint praised Gina for being calm in the midst of the pandemonium.

Clint and Gina dine and drink while sitting on their bed in their robes and discussing their relationship. She explains that she is not needy and is quite independent, but she is observing an increase in her interest in him, which is a hopeful indicator. When the couple shacks up in a beachfront cabana and Gina brings up her lack of physical attraction to Clint, revealing redheads aren't generally her style, that progress appears to take a five-step backward. It's evident he's insulted, but based on what viewers see, Gina doesn't seem to recognize it.

'Gina's ginger comments were cringy'

Seeing a visibly irritated Clint, a fan wrote, "Gina stabbed him and kept twisting the knife." Already having seen the preview for the season where Clint seems to be making unfavorable comments on how Gina looks, a fan writes, "Now Gina you did fire the first shot. Clint just matched your energy!" Another fan tweeted, "Gina’s Ginger comments were cringy." Calling Gina's comments mean and hurtful, a fan wrote, "Why in the hell did Gina knock Clint down like that? That was straight up mean and hurtful."

One fan felt, "Gina is fully aware that Clint is not attracted to her and she just keeps making excuses. At least Clint hasn't been rude about it to Gina unlike her." Keeping in mind what's to come, a fan wrote, "Now everyone just witnessed Gina’s insensitivity towards Clint. Please don’t act dumbfounded when he starts unleashing on her." Viewers who weren't big fan of Clint to beging with quipped, "I'm seriously annoyed that Gina has me feeling like I need to defend Clint. Did not have that on my bingo card." One fan also tweeted, "How do you say all that and then ask the man how he feels... how do you want him to feel ? Gina, the timing and delivery is so insensitive."
