SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 recently announced the long-awaited winner and it's none other than fans' favourite finalist, Abi Carter. She received a whopping $250,000 cash prize and a recording contract. She broke down in tears as soon as Ryan Seacrest called her the winner.

Abi won over the viewers and the live audience as the whole studio was filled with cheer. She performed Bon Jovi's 'Bed of Roses' and nailed the performance. She also received praise from the singing legend and guest mentor Jon Bon Jovi. He told Abi that her rendition of the song was 'beautiful,' but that he wanted her to make it hers.

During the finale, the ABC show winner received a surprise shout-out from Billie Eilish. The Grammy-winning singer told Abi, "I love you so much. I wish you nothing but the best, and I just can't wait to see what happens tonight." Billie added, "I'm here to support you forever."

Abi Carter dedicates 'Somewhere' to her hometown Indio

During the 'American Idol' Season 22 finale episode, Abi Carter performed 'Somewhere' from 'West Side Story' as a tribute to her hometown, Indio. She looked stunning in an all-light blue ensemble as she belted the emotional song and nailed each moment.

Abi received a standing ovation from the judges and the live audience. Lionel Richie noted "that was a show-stopping moment" and "doesn't get any better than that." Meanwhile, Katy Perry compared Abi to the Statue of Liberty and added that if she wins the show, the bar is going to be so high.

Who was eliminated in 'American Idol' Season 22 finale?

Jack Blocker was the first finalist to be eliminated from the ABC show. He performed 'I'll Be There For You' and 'All My Ex's Live In Texas' during his final performances. After the elimination, he shared on his social media, "Man what a blessing to kick it on IDOL with so many heroes new and old."

He added, "Cannot wait to keep making music for you as long as the good Lord allows it!! THANK YOU x10000000."

Will Moseley was also eliminated during the finale. He was crowned as the runner-up of the ABC show. Meanwhile, the Top 3 finalists Abi Carter, Jack Blocker, and Will Moseley have recently made a $20,000 donation to the Local Music Programs.
