PASCAGOULA, MISSISSIPPI: Calvin Parker who hailed from Mississippi was one of the two men who claimed to have experienced an alien abduction in the city of Pascagoula.

For those who may not be familiar, the Pascagoula Abduction is a widely recognized incident that occurred in 1973. It involves a reported encounter with an unidentified flying object (UFO) followed by an alleged alien abduction. The incident is one of the eight tales covered in Netflix's upcoming docu-series 'Files of the Unexplained.'

Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker, two individuals who were enjoying a peaceful fishing trip near Pascagoula, Mississippi, claimed that they were forcibly taken on board an extraterrestrial craft, where they were subjected to a thorough examination before being eventually released by the otherworldly beings.

This extraordinary event has captured the attention and curiosity of many, becoming a significant part of UFO lore and sparking numerous debates and investigations into the existence of intelligent life beyond our planet.

On the evening of October 11, 1973, Charles Hickson, 42, and Calvin Parker, 19, reported to the Jackson County Sheriff's office that they were fishing off a pier on the west bank of the Pascagoula River in Mississippi when they experienced strange phenomena, according to the Clarion Ledger.

They described hearing a whirring noise, seeing flashing blue lights, and witnessing an oval-shaped object approximately 30-40 feet wide and 8-10 feet tall.

Both men claimed to have been fully conscious but unable to move, as three beings with robotic mouths and crab-like pincers took them aboard the object and conducted some kind of examination on them.

After approximately half an hour, Hickson and Parker were returned to the riverbank as the unidentified flying object departed from the scene.

Pascagoula alien abduction featured in Netflix's 'Files of the Unexplained' changed Calvin Parker's life

During an interview with Clarion Ledger on November 7, 2022, Parker spilled the beans on the Pascagoula Abduction that has been explored in Netfix's 'Files of the Unexplained.'

"It completely changed my life. It's just a deal in life that happens and you don't have any control over it. Maybe if I was a little older I would've handled it better, but I wasn't, and I didn't," he told the media outlet.

In the same interview, Parker described seeing a blue light reflecting off the water, initially thinking it was law enforcement. However, he soon realized it was coming from an unusual craft.

"A big light came out of the clouds. It was a blinding light. It was hard to tell with the lights so bright, but it looked like it was shaped like a football. I would say, just estimating, (it was) about 80-foot. (It made) very little sound. It was just a hissing noise." he said.

He continued, "I think they injected us with something to calm us down. I was kind of numb and went along with the program."

According to Parker, the creatures grabbed their arms and lifted them into the spaceship, where they were subjected to examinations. Afterward, they were taken back to the river bank.

After discussing it, they agreed to inform the authorities and found themselves in an interview room at the sheriff's office. Parker chose to stay quiet during the interview, which he later wished he hadn't done after hearing the recording.

"I was wishing I'd really opened up to them and told them everything," he said. In 2018, Parker even published a book titled 'Pascagoula - The Closest Encounter, My Story,' which is "the first full account of the event given by Parker along with how it affected his life."

Parker spent a significant portion of his existence avoiding the events of that fateful October night and the ensuing spotlight that followed.

However, as his life neared its end, he shared with the Clarion Ledger that upon reflection, he realized that despite the challenges and hardships, his experiences ultimately shaped him for the better.

"Under the circumstances now, I'm kind of glad it did happen because I got to meet a lot of people I wouldn't have gotten to meet," he added.

How did Calvin Parker die?

Calvin Parker, the renowned individual from Pascagoula who gained global recognition for his account of being abducted by aliens, sadly died in the year 2023.

According to a close acquaintance of the family, Parker succumbed to kidney cancer on August 24, 2023, following a courageous and protracted struggle. He peacefully departed in the comforting presence of his cherished ones, including his devoted wife, Waynette, within the confines of their own home.

Charles Hickinson opened up on Pascagoula Abduction, mentioned 'I couldn't resist them'

Charles Hickinson, who died in 2011 of a heart attack, also discussed the alien abduction during the same interview.

"And they glided me into that thing. know, how you just guide somebody. You know, how you just guide somebody," Hickinson said.

"All of us moved like we were floating through air. When I got in there they had me, you know, they just kind of had me there. There were no seats, no chain, they just moved me around. I couldn't resist them. I just floated, felt no sensation, no pain. They kept me in that position a little while, then they'd raise me back up," he added.

Hickson attempted to explain a device that he believed was utilized for conducting medical evaluations.

"No, it wasn't like no x-ray machine. There ain't no way to describe it. It looked like an eye, like a big eye. It had some kind of an attachment to it. It moved. It looked like a big eye and it went all over my body, up and down. And then they left me," he said.

Hickinson continued, "The only thing I remember is that kid, Calvin, just standing there. I've never seen that sort of fear on a man's face as I saw on Calvin's."

He shared, "It took me a while to get him back to his senses, and the first thing I told him was, 'Son, ain't nobody gonna believe this. Let's just keep this whole thing to ourselves.' Well, the more I thought about it, the more I thought I had to let some officials know."
