Who was Ashley Flugel?
Flugel was Kohberger’s friend from high school, The Idaho Statesman reported, which also said that the two used to take heroin together. But in 2017 and 2018, she faced numerous drug charges, which demanded she appear in court.
However, in May 2018, before the 23-year-old could make her court appearance, she was found dead inside a home in the 1200 block of Lyndsey Lane in Effort, Chestnuthill Township. It was said that she died due to an accidental drug overdose. As per the young woman’s obituary, she “graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.”

Bryan believes he’s done nothing wrong
Kohberger, despite being the only suspect in the Idaho murders case, has not said anything crucial yet. But when he was arrested, chief public defender of Monroe County Jason LaBar, who represented him, reportedly said, “Kohberger is eager to be exonerated of these charges and looks forward to resolving these matters as promptly as possible.”
Also, Kohberger’s family supports and believes him. A statement from them read, “First and foremost, we care deeply for the four families who have lost their precious children. There are no words that can adequately express the sadness we feel, and we pray each day for them. We will continue to let the legal process unfold, and as a family, we will love and support our son and brother.”
They added, “We have fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies in an attempt to seek the truth and promote his presumption of innocence rather than judge unknown facts and make erroneous assumptions. We respect privacy in this matter as our family and the families suffering loss can move forward through the legal process.”
