Who plays Virgil Dean on ‘Tracker’? Here’s why the guest star in Season 3 Episode 13 looks so familiar
The latest episode from ‘Tracker’ Season 3, titled ‘Breakaway,’ saw Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw investigate the disappearance of stuntman Hale Ripley on a movie set, as reported by Parade. The episode, which aired on CBS on March 22, is directed by David M. Barrett and co-written by Travis Donnelly and Dominique A. Holmes. Fans were treated to a special surprise as they got to see the pro-wrestler Chris Jericho’s villainous turn as Virgil Dean when they tuned in on Sunday. He appeared alongside Erica Durance and David Ramsey in the star-studded episode. Ben H. Winters has developed the action drama series, ‘Tracker,’ from Jeffery Deaver’s 2019 novel ‘The Never Game.’
The WWE star shared the news on social media last week with his followers. The caption to his post read, “Stoked to announce I’ll be playing the lead bad guy on this Sunday’s episode of @trackercbs, the NUMBER ONE SHOW on network tv!!! The episode is called #Breakaway, also starring @justinhartley, @fionarene, @davidpaulramsey & @durance.erica and was directed by @davidmbarrett395! I play #VirgilDean and let’s just say, he’s not a nice guy. Can’t wait for you all to see it, THIS SUNDAY at 9 pm EST on @cbstv & @paramountplus!” The episode’s premise is as follows: “After Baxter (David Ramsey), a veteran stuntman, disappears following a risky stunt, his girlfriend, Laura (Erica Durance), calls Colter to investigate a B-movie set, uncovering shady producers and a trail that leads into a dangerous underground world.”
Jericho (born Christopher Keith Irvine) gained international fame after joining World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 1999. He became the first-ever undisputed WWE Champion in 2001. Throughout the 2000s, he headlined multiple pay-per-view (PPV) events like ‘WrestleMania X8’ and the inaugural ‘TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs,’ among others. In 2010, he was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame and is touted as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. After leaving WWE in 2018, Jericho signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and became its inaugural AEW World Champion in 2019.

He has acted in the horror films ‘Terrifier 2’ and its sequel ‘Terrifier 3’ as Adam Burke and starred in the comedy series ‘The Thundermans’ as Gary.
