Who owns Cook's Corner biker bar? Mass shooting reportedly leaves multiple people dead
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: On Wednesday night, a shooting took place at a historic biker bar in Trabuco Canyon. Authorities immediately took hold of the situation as fatalities took place at Cook's Corner on Santiago Road, Orange County.
Cook's Corner is an Orange County, California bar popular with motorcyclists. The building of the bar is registered under the name of Andrew Jackson Cook.
Andrew is a merchant who acquired 190 acres of land in Orange County, California. He constructed Cook's Corner's building somewhere in 1884.
Later, the building was converted into a bar by Cook's son Earl Jack "E.J" Cook.
Cook's Corner, a bar famous for bikers, was established by Victor Villa and Volker Streicek. They purchased Cook's Corner as an investment and made it a place to party for motorcycle clubs and patrons.
Volker and his wife Shirley ran the bar. Later, Cook's was sold.
Who was the gunman at Cook's Corner shooting?
According to the Los Angeles Times, the sources revealed that the gunman at Cook's Corner was a retired law enforcement officer.
He was targeting his estranged wife. And, the same led to an open firing at the bar. As of now, it is unknown whether the gunman was following his strange wife to the bar or whether he accidentally met him accidentally there.
The shooting started as a domestic dispute and later turned into a gruesome open firing.
The gunman himself was shot and killed by the deputies.
FBI investigation in process as 10 people shot at Cook's Corner
CBS News reports 5 people, including the shooter are found dead at Cook's Corner's open firing. Along with that, 6 people were injured in the fatal incident that took place on Wednesday night.
People with gunshot wounds were immediately rushed to the hospital by the deputies present on the scene.
Thankfully, no deputies or officers were hurt on the scene. The authorities have issued SigAlert for El Toro Road.
The investigation will take place and the FBI will be seen helping the officers.
