WHO declares anti-vaxxers among 'top 10 threats to global health' in 2019
Anti-vaxxers, better known as people who don't want to vaccinate their children for various reasons, have now been named as one of the top threats to global health in 2019 by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The anti-vaccine movement in the US has now joined air pollution, climate change, HIV on the official list that was released on January 14. The WHO has called it "vaccine hesitancy" and they described it as something that "threatens to reverse progress made in tackling vaccine-preventable diseases."
The organization also added in its statement: "Vaccination is one of the most cost-effective ways of avoiding disease - it currently prevents [two to three] million deaths a year, and a further 1.5 million could be avoided if global coverage of vaccinations improved."
The ð is facing multiple health challenges.
