Who is WWE star Lana? How No. 1 contender for champion Asuka modeled tiny bikinis and vowed to ‘rise again’
WWE’s sensational wrestler Lana has become the new No. 1 contender to face RAW Women's Champion wrestler Asuka. In the October 12, WWE Draft edition of RAW, Lana won a Dual Brand Battle Royal to become the star contender for the future fight with Japanese wrestler Asuka. Lana won over other participants in the match like WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Natalya, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Bianca Belair, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Tamina Snuka, Lacey Evans, and Nikki Cross. Previously, Lana, whose real name is CJ Perry had seen a rough phase before becoming the number one contender to face Asuka. It came a week back when wrestler Natalya broke off the alliance with Lana following their loss to other wrestlers Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose in a tag team match on RAW. Before the two friends Lana and Natalya broke, they had a training session where Lana broke down in tears and cried 'I don’t wanna fail you' as she referred to Natalya.
Lana also posted a steamy monochrome picture of herself in a bikini on her Instagram to mark the fact that she will not lose her spirit after her alliance with Natalya broke. The October 8 photo captioned, “In spite of everything, I shall rise again!” shows her in statement blonde hair and donning a hot black bikini that accentuates her curves. As she wrote, Lana did not lose morale. She bounced back from the heartbreak to win the Battle Royal and clinched the number 1 contender tag in the October 12 match of RAW Women's Championship. She will now face Asuka next week on the season premiere of the Red brand.

Lana, 35 was born into a wealthy Russian family where her neighbors were ex-presidents, diplomats, and other influential political figures. The westing champion attended Florida State University, where she not only learned English but also majored in Foreign Affairs, Business and Social Media Marketing. Lana went on to become a successful WWE star, an actress, singer, and model.
Coming to her personal life, Lana once dated actor and former American football player Isaiah Mustafa. She married AEW wrestler Miroslav Barnyashev, better known by his ring names Rusev and Miro, in 2016. However, she confessed that she had "fears" and "concerns" about her marriage to Rusev. "I just get scared, like what if it doesn't work out?" Lana asked Rusev as reported by E Online. "People get divorced all the time and I don't wanna get divorced. I don't want my marriage to fail, I get really scared." Lana went on to say to Rusev, "What if I'm not with you and you cheat? Or what about if I get insecure and I cheat?"
The report mentions Lana was in turmoil over questions on her marriage as she bumped into her ex, actor and football player Isaiah Mustafa. Anyhow, Lana had a great professional bond with her husband Rusev. She was key in leading Rusev to three United States Championships and twice teamed with her husband for 'Mixed Match Challenge', as reported by WWE.
However, this bond between Lana and Rusev received a blow in 2019 when Lana made her return to Raw alongside Bobby Lashley and began locking lips with him in front of Rusev! She subsequently divorced her husband and married Lashley, which led to an unforgettable series of brawls and matches between her former and present husband, WWE reported.
