LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Player 287, Mai Whelan, took away a whooping $4.56M prize money as she was declared the winner of Netflix's 'Squid Game: The Challenge'. The 55-year-old immigration adjudicator broke down into tears as she opened the locker to find out she had become the champion of the season.

Towards the end, Phill Cain and Mai were left in the game. The winner of the season was decided by a game of stone, paper, scissors.

Player 287 won the round and was given the chance to select a key and she chose the triangle. However, the box did not open.

Phill won the other round but wasn't able to open the box again. Thankfully, Mai cracked open the safe after some rounds. As she opened the lock, a bright red light reflected on her face.

Mai then exhaled heavily as she saw an ATM card inside it. The announcement claimed, "Player 287, you've won $4.56M." Phill congratulated Mai as she hugged him while sobbing heavily.

After winning, Mai said in the confessional, "Today just validates that anything is possible." She added, "Even when you feel down and afraid, you have to pick yourself up, be a strong person and focus."

She also told Phill, "I don't know whether to cry or to cheer. I don't know what to do."

Mai further said to the audience, "Whatever your fear is, fight it with everything that you've got, and you can accomplish anything."
