Who is Wicked Wisdom? Willow Smith reunites Jada Pinkett's metal band for Mother’s Day, fans want rock album
Willow Smith may have pulled off the best Mother's Day gift this year as her mother Jada Pinkett Smith went on to gush, "My heart burst in a thousand different ways having my daughter honor me in this way!” Here's how the 20-year-old singer, songwriter, and actor pulled the best trick, reuniting her mother's former band Wicked Wisdom and even performing with them.
Wicked Wisdom, the American nu metal band from Los Angeles, California, was formed by Jada Pinkett Smith in 2002. Willow Smith has always been an ardent fan of her mother's band. In the Red Table Talk episode, the 'Transparent Soul’ crooner said, "When I was, I wanna say about 3 or 4, I went on tour with my mom and her band Wicked Wisdom. Wicked Wisdom was lit. This is the music that I grew up around. My mother was superwoman, she was a rock star, warrior and nurturer all in one. So unapologetically bada**." She added, "She was a rock star, and I was living for Wicked Wisdom."

I love you Willow!"

'Only way I would start listening to rock'
After Willow's surprise for her mother, people on the internet said the 'Whip My Hair' crooner needs to consider dropping her own rock album soon, especially to influence a generation of young listeners. A fan wrote, "Willow is the only way I would start listening to rock music!" Another user shared, "No, y’all don’t get it Willow singing her mama’s song has struck a positive chord in my soul. A chord that has never been touched before!" and added, "I love being Black and I love rock music. I know that rock is OURS but Black rockers, esp BW rockers are rare as hell. The ones I can think of are a mix of other shit (pop rock, rockabilly, backup singers for white male rockers) but this??? This is pure!" A fan quipped, "I can’t believe Willow Smith invented rock music."

The youngest artist to be signed to Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation, Willow Smith talked about the collaboration saying, "I am so grateful for this tune because it was created in such an introspective time (during the first couple months of quarantine),” and added, “It was the song that proved to me that I needed to let go of the insecurities I had about making a project of this genre.”
