Who is Tay Jones? Ma'Khia Bryant shooting witness says FB deleted post that said 'this is f***** that shot her'
COLUMBUS, OHIO: Ma'Khia Bryant was allegedly killed by an unidentified cop on Tuesday, April 20, minutes before Derek Chauvin was found guilty in connection with George Floyd’s death. Ma'Khia was just 16 when she died. According to police, the teenager had a knife and was allegedly attacking two other girls.
However, a woman identified as Tay Jones reportedly claimed to witness the incident and said Ma'Khia was armed “because somebody tried to jump her.” She alleged that the White police officer who gunned her down did not ask her to leave the knife before opening fire. Jones also took to Facebook and wrote in a post, “They shot a 15 year old black girl 4 times in the chest f**k 12!!!”

The reported witness went on to claim that one of her Facebook posts related to the killing was taken down by the social media giant. The deleted post read: “this is the f***** that shot her her 4 times in the chest for having a knife because somebody tried to jump her didn’t tell her to put it down didn’t ask questions or nothing & SHE the one called them for help. Smh F*** 12!!!!” As per reports, Jones also shared a video that seemed to be from the scene where Ma'Khia died. "This is the racist-a** b****h that shot this poor f***ing girl. I'm not gonna put this s**t on camera. They f***ing shot this girl talking about she tried to stab him. The f**k? That's somebody's f***ing daughter, b***h,” a voice can be heard in the clip.
Meanwhile, reports stated that several people gathered near the site of the shooting with one man demanding to know if the cops were wearing body cameras. "We sick of being peaceful. That peaceful stuff is for the birds. We did that last summer. We ain't being peaceful no more,” a person told the officers present at the location. Others said, “Black lives matter.”
Ma'Khia died minutes before a landmark verdict was passed in the Chauvin trial. The former Minneapolis officer was found convicted of all charges, which included second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. It has been said the 45-year-old could now face years behind bars for killing the African-American man on May 25 last year. Ben Crump, an attorney for the Floyd family, expressed his thoughts over the death of Ma'Khia. He tweeted, “As we breathed a collective sigh of relief today, a community in Columbus felt the sting of another police shooting as @ColumbusPolice killed an unarmed 15yo Black girl named Makiyah Bryant. Another child lost! Another hashtag. #JusticeForMakiyahBryant.”

Several people agreed with Crump as one said, “Ohio just became a ‘Stand your Ground’ state in January too. She called the police like Zimmerman did but actually defended on her own property...still murdered. Ughhhhhh.” Another user wrote, “This makes me sick to my stomach...just as I felt relief and hope...when will people who are hired to protect us and our children understand that they don’t have the right or the power to take lives for no reason...especially black lives.”
