It was a torrid day for Conservative reporter Tara Anne Szczepanski. A dirty diaper was allegedly rubbed on her face and she was attacked during a Black Lives Matter rally in Madison Park on January 10. It all happened when she was filming the rally around noon when she was shoved around by a group and was hit on the head with an egg. Her cellphone was knocked to the ground with an umbrella, according to sources and police, reports the New York Post. The scuffle was caught on video.

In connection to the incident, the police recently arrested two young men, Saqunn Jackson (23) and Juarde Benn (20). They hail from University Heights and Flatbush respectively. Jackson was charged with aggravated harassment and stalking. The site added he was released under supervision. Benn was charged with attempted assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and stalking, according to the police.

Who is Tara Anne Szczepanski?

Szczepanski is a 33-year-old social media journalist. The site added she had previously taken part in beauty pageants and described herself as an independent reporter on LinkedIn. Her Twitter profile reads: "Tara Szczepanski. Political Program Host of “The Capitol” on http://LiveOne.tv. Indie Reporter Journalist. Subscribe." She posted a video on Twitter that saw her being attacked by a few men.



 

"Attacked at a #BLM #Antifa #NyC rally, smashed egg in my head, hit with umbrella, spat on, knocked with a skateboard, as the crowd says, ‘Don’t protect [her], she’s for Trump,’” she tweeted, along with a video clip, the day of the incident. The clip sees her filming the rally when a bunch of guys around her up and start spraying her with silly string saying, "she's a nazi, she's a f*****g nazi" and shove her around even as she screams, "do not touch me, stay the f*** away from me!" A man was seen saying: "I’ll knock you out."

The tweet sparked some outrage among netizens. "When they will learn that kids and women are untouchable, in every country in every circumstance !!!" read one of the tweets. "His face was in full view. Presumably, the police will move to immediately arrest him for assault and intimidation and possibly for a political hate crime," read another. The tweets poured in on January 11 soon after the clip went viral. Another remarked: "This is attack of our first amendment! Who the fuck does he think he is!!" "Ugh, that was soooo hard to watch I watched it live and was saddened by the fact that I couldn’t HELP!!" wrote one of the people in response to the tweet.
