Virginia Dem candidate Susanna Gibson embroiled in sordid tip-to-view sex scandal with husband John David Gibson
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: Susanna Gibson, a Democrat running for a highly contested seat in Virginia's House of Delegates, is making headlines after it emerged that she performed sexual acts with her husband John David Gibson, and encouraged viewers on livestream to shower them with "tips" for tailored requests.
Susanna Gibson tip-to-view sex scandal
Susanna Gibson, a nurse practitioner and mother of two, is running for office in a rather competitive suburban Richmond district. According to the Washington Post, which first obtained the videos, Gibson streamed sex acts on Chaturbate, a website that allows users to engage in “the act of masturbating while chatting online.”
Several videos of the couple were archived on different sites where they could be viewed without entering a password. The most recent clips were reportedly archived on September 30, 2022, after she entered the race.

A Republican operative informed the Post about the videos, which are still listed on the alternative website Recurbate but no longer available for public viewing. However, the Post confirmed that at least two other publicly available sites displayed explicit still photos from the videos.
Gibson is clearly seen in the clips asking for "tips" to perform specific acts, although it appears to be in violation of Chaturbate’s terms and conditions. “Requesting or demanding specific acts for tips may result in a ban from the Platform for all parties involved," the website states.
At least two videos show Gibson telling patrons she is “raising money for a good cause," although it is unclear if she fundraiser for her political campaign.
Some of the videos show the candidate interrupting sex acts to urge viewers to provide tips, which are paid via "tokens" purchased on the site. She promises to perform certain acts in a "private room" if the viewer agrees to pay more.
“I need, like, more tokens before I let him do that,” she responds to one such request, adding, “One token, no. More. Raising money for a good cause.”
Who is Susanna Gibson's husband?
Susanna Gibson is married to local Richmond attorney John David Gibson, according to the Daily Mail.
While Gibson generally takes the lead in conversing with viewers, in one case her husband chimes in with “C’mon, guys” to support her calls for tips, as per the Post.
Gibson insists that she is in an open relationship with her husband, albeit he "doesn't like sharing." "Yeah I f*** random strangers if you're hot," she says, adding, "We have tried swapping. I was telling them earlier about ethical non-monogamy. We uh, he doesn't like sharing."
"Sometimes I have to though. She makes me," her husband concedes.
"I've had three in a day actually," the Democrat candidate brags at another point, adding, "Don't tell my husband he was the third."
Expanding on her marital situation, Gibson states, "I’m married and I think the person I’m married to is amazing. But I love sex. I always have I always will. I don’t think that when you are in love with someone it means that you don’t want to f*** other people. Like love and sex are not mutually exclusive right."
Susanna Gibson responds to the scandal
Susanna Gibson described the exposure of the explicit content as “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family.”
She told the Post in a written statement, “It won’t intimidate me and it won’t silence me. My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up.”
Daniel P Watkins, who serves as Susanna Gibson's attorney, asserted that sharing the videos amounts to a breach of the state's revenge porn legislation. This law categorizes such actions as a Class 1 misdemeanor when individuals intentionally disseminate explicit or intimate content of another person with the aim of coercing, harassing, or intimidating them.
“We are working closely with state and federal law enforcement,” Watkins told the Post.

On November 7, Susanna Gibson will go head-to-head with Republican candidate David Owen, a former home builder, in the upcoming election. This pivotal election day will see all 140 seats in Virginia's House and Senate up for grabs.
“Me and my team found out about this story today like everyone else,” Owen said in a statement following the expose, adding, “I’m sure this is a difficult time for Susanna and her family, and I’m remaining focused on my campaign.”
