From Halle Bailey’s portrayal of Ariel to Melissa McCarthy being the cruel auntie Ursula, the casting for ‘The Little Mermaid’ was beyond exceptional. Disney has a reputation for hiring some of the biggest celebrities, but sometimes, they can miss the mark.
‘The Little Mermaid’ had several side characters and extras, especially in the final scene, who played the roles of mermaids, merman, and other sea creatures. One particular merman has caught the attention of several people, and it is Stefano Tomadini. Apart from being a model and the perfect male hunk for playing a Disney merman, Tomadini has a rather colorful resume that doesn’t align perfectly with the likes of Disney.

Tomadini has the face and body that can be perfect for playing a merman, considering how he is built, and the fact that he is a model. While modeling is Tomadini’s full-time career, his side hustle went unnoticed when Disney was hiring their merman for ‘The Little Mermaid’.
According to The Sun, the Italian model has an alias called Dante Ferrari, which he used to star in porn videos in the past. Now, that doesn’t seem very on-brand for Disney, does it? We can already hear King Triton’s angry roar and Ursula’s evil chuckle when they hear this news.
A source said, “They (Disney) had no idea about Stefano’s racy videos and, given The Little Mermaid is the big summer blockbuster for kids, it’s a bit embarrassing for Disney.” Well, there’s no going back for Disney now considering ‘The Little Mermaid’ is already a box-office hit, and almost every parent, child, and young adult has seen Tomadini in the background, only now, people might pay more attention to the mermen.

Tomadini had previously done an interview with Chromatica Magazine, where he spoke about his hobbies and said, “My other hobbies are traveling, cooking, and diving into the sea.” Well, Disney most certainly let Tomadini take dive into the sea with ‘The Little Mermaid’. When asked about his favorite project so far, he said, “My favorite project so far is being on a scene of a movie that we have filmed in Italy.”
Tomadini’s career trajectory does include acting, which is why Disney most likely hired him, apart from his look, but a deeper background check into his alias’ and side hustles might have been better. As of now, Disney has not made a comment on the casting.
