Who is Sho Konishi? 'OMG Fashun' fashion designer has worked for A-list celebs including Lizzo
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'OMG Fashun' contestant Sho Konishi is a fashion and costume designer, educator and specialist in pattern-making for 3D development. Konishi has worked for multiple A-list Hollywood celebrities, including Billy Porter, Lizzo, and Julia Fox. He originally belongs to Japan but currently lives in New York.
According to his LinkedIn, Konishi has pursued a Bachelor of Arts from Tokyo Mode Gakuen College of Fashion and Design. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Fashion Design from Paris College of Art Haute Technology and Haute Couture Fashion Design. He has also completed a Master of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from PARSONS Fashion Design and Society.
Konishi kicked off his professional career as a production manager and took multiple roles before becoming a fashion designer. He mainly focuses on the Avant-garde Dress and Wedding Dress design as well as creative textile development.
Konishi uses clothes as a way to design life and believes that fashion design is a tangible representation of human existence. The fashion designer has created costumes for celebrities including, Susanne Bartsch, Nico Tortorella, KimChi, Saweetie, and Chloe X Halle. He has also designed costumes for the performers of the Opening Ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
Sho Konishi reflects on near-death experience
'OMG Fashun' fashion designer Sho Konishi was rushed to the hospital after he had a near-death experience in March 2023. He shared a series of photos from the hospital and shared his health woes. He was working late and felt exhausted when he had severe pain in his stomach. The fashion designer was not able to speak and felt he needed to lie down.
Konishi's fingers and his face turned blue. He was not able to breathe properly and his solar plexus area hurt so much. In the Instagram post, Konishi revealed that his friend called the emergency services and was admitted to the hospital. However, the results were fine and the doctors couldn't figure out what actually happened to him.
Sho Konishi celebrates the 7th anniversary of his studio
E!'s 'OMG Fashun' contestant Sho Konishi opened his studio in 2017 and completed 7 amazing years of his online-based fashion education system. From designs to operations, Konishi carries all the workflow in his studio and also serves as a fashion mentor to his students who want to apply to fashion schools.
He also guides emerging designers to establish their fashion careers after school or students who already want to launch their brands in school. He helps fashion aspirants through online tutorials once a week with his advice and motivation.
