Robert Johnson: Tennessee man tries to sell car with girlfriend's body in backseat
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: A man from Tennessee has been arrested and charged with the murder of his girlfriend. Authorities said Robert Miquel Johnson also allegedly attempted to sell her car with her body inside it. As per the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the remains of 44-year-old Pamela Paz were found under a Nashville overpass on May 2, just a day after the 31-year-old suspect tried to sell her vehicle.
It has been reported that when Johnson was interrogated by cops, authorities also brought in a witness who confirmed that the accused was trying to sell Paz’s Dodge Charger with her corpse in the back seat. This alleged murder is among many gruesome crimes that took place recently. For instance, a New York man was charged with the murder of his girlfriend of 10 years after she was found dismembered at their home. In another strange case, a Michigan mom's body was found in a car trunk after she went missing after a fight with her boyfriend. In another bizarre case, two teenagers, who apparently were in love with each other, allegedly murdered the girl’s dad over him refusing to accept their relationship. Later, they allegedly joked about the murder on camera.

In Johnson's case, police reportedly said that he tried to mislead them by giving false details about his location at the time of the murder. “He was interviewed and provided an alibi, which was subsequently proven to be false,” cops added. Johnson was identified as a suspect during the course of the investigation, led by Detective Ryan Russell. Police had been searching for Johnson and arrested him on June 5.
As per reports, on Monday, June 14, an arrest warrant charging him with criminal homicide has been filed. He is currently being held in jail at Wilson County on unrelated charges, but will reportedly be extradited to Nashville. Meanwhile, an autopsy conducted on the victim, a mother-of-four, reportedly showed that she died from neck trauma probably caused by strangulation. Police also stated that Paz had bruises on her face. It has been said that the woman was a single mother to her four children.
According to her 18-year-old daughter, Paz was “selfless and cared so much about everybody”. She told WKRN: “My brothers don’t deserve this, my sister don’t deserve this, I don’t deserve this, she didn’t deserve that.” The victim’s friend Angela Heath said that the news of Paz's death made her feel like she’s in a horror movie. Heath added, “It doesn’t feel like real life right now.”
In another incident that happened earlier this year in Texas, a man allegedly murdered his girlfriend and her mother, before shooting himself dead. The incident took place on February 7 when Nathan Rashad James killed Marietta Matthews, 26, and her 55-year-old mother Tamiko Merriwether. The suspect was said to be living with the victims when the incident happened. Reports also stated that after killing his girlfriend and her mother, James went live on Instagram and screamed that he was sorry and that “he tried to leave”.
It has been said police officers tried several times to enter the house after responding to a report around 4.30 pm of an active shooter at the apartment in the 9800 block of Summerwood Circle but failed. They then called the SWAT team. The SWAT officers reportedly surrounded the apartment and made several attempts to convince James to surrender. However, they only get to manage to enter the apartment around 7 pm to find the bodies.
