MIAMI, FLORIDA: A shocking case of fraud involving a Florida man and his three sons came to a close as they were convicted of federal charges related to their promotion of a dangerous bleach concoction as a supposed cure for a vast array of diseases, including COVID-19. Mark Grenon, 65, along with his sons Jonathan, 37, Joseph, 35, and Jordan, 29, faced charges of conspiring to defraud the US and distribute misbranded drugs.
Since 2016, investigators have been looking into the Grenon family, starting with an undercover report during a seminar in Costa Mesa. During this event, the family was promoting their product known as 'Miracle Mineral Solution' or MMS, which they claimed could cure various ailments. The concoction, also known as "Miracle Mineral Supplement", was marketed as a religious sacrament through their fake church.

Grenon has been convicted on federal fraud charges for conspiring to defraud the US and deliver misbranded drugs. He and his three sons gained notoriety for marketing a harmful bleach concoction called "Miracle Mineral Solution" (MMS) as a cure for various diseases, including COVID-19. The Grenons promoted MMS as a religious sacrament through a fake church and falsely claimed that it could cure 95% of the world's diseases.
In reality, MMS contained chlorine dioxide, a chemical commonly used for industrial purposes such as treating textiles and industrial water. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned that ingesting MMS is dangerous and akin to drinking bleach as it can cause severe harm and even be fatal. Despite a court order to stop selling the harmful substance in 2020, Grenon and his family continued to ignore the prohibition.
'Con men!'
The MMS was fraudulently marketed as a cure for numerous diseases, including COVID-19, Alzheimer's, autism, brain cancer, HIV/AIDS, and multiple sclerosis despite its actual composition -- chlorine dioxide, which is commonly used in industrial settings such as treating textiles, industrial water, pulp, and paper. When ingested, the solution turns into bleach and can be extremely harmful, even fatal. Prosecutors labeled the Grenons as "con men" and "snake-oil salesmen" for exploiting people's vulnerabilities in their pursuit of profits.
Two of his sons, Jonathan and Jordan, were apprehended in Bradenton, near Tampa Bay, where federal agents seized thousands of bottles of MMS and significant amounts of cash. Mark and Joseph attempted to evade justice by fleeing to Colombia. However, they were eventually arrested there and extradited back to the United States to face trial. The family is now awaiting sentencing, which has been scheduled for Friday, October 6, 2023.
