NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a surprising turn of events, 'Today's Craig Melvin snapped at co-host Al Roker as the latter made a snarky remark on-air about a production mishap while the duo was interviewing travel writer Mark Ellwood.

On the Wednesday, July 26 episode, the co-hosts Al Roker and Craig Melvin were spotted taking a hit at each other on live TV. Roker is known for frequently slamming his fellow hosts with playful teases and snarky comments. Earlier last week, Roker had mocked Dylan Dreyer during an Instagram Live session by calling the latter a "cheapster" as she headed off to her vacation in Italy. So, it seems like Melvin was waiting for the right opportunity to give it back to Roker.

Why did Craig Melvin ask Al Roker to ‘shut up’?

During the 'Last Minute Summer Travel Deals' segment on 'Today's 3rd Hour', NBC hosts Melvin, Roker, and Savannah Sellers interviewed travel writer Ellwood about top destinations to visit during this time of year. The writer talked about several spots in places like Wisconsin, New Hampshire, New Orleans, and Louisiana before pointing to locations in the west, according to Melvin’s direction.

While discussing the Sierra Nevada Resort in California, the footage displayed matched the conversation. However, a glitch occurred when Ellwood was talking about the indoor water park at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, as instead of showing the actual water park, producers mistakenly played a clip of someone jet-skiing on the ocean, leading to a snarky remark from Roker. He quickly picked up on the mistake and sarcastically jabbed, "That’s a huge water park," to which Melvin responded, "Shut up."
