RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA: 'The Bachelorette' Season 21 star Marcus Shoberg is an Army veteran from Raleigh, North Carolina. He was in the Army for eight years from 2011 until 2019. He started as a rifleman and quickly advanced through the ranks due to his dedication to the country. His unwavering commitment earned him a promotion to Battalion Civilian Affairs Operations Sergeant.

According to his LinkedIn, he studied International Studies majoring in Foreign Policy, Diplomacy, Peace and Security from the University of Washington. Marcus joined the Harvard Undergraduate Veterans Organization as a Director of Membership Engagement after leaving the army.

In April 2023, Marcus started working as a data engineer at Amentum in North Carolina. He later founded his own company, Falkor Technologies, in September 2023. The ABC show contestant is also a certified open-water scuba diver and has his student pilot certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Marcus is looking for true love in the ABC show after he recently got his heart broken. He is notably the runner-up of 'The Bachelorette' Season 21, according to Reality Steve. He was reportedly one of Jenn Tran's final two men at the final rose ceremony in Hawaii. Sadly, he was not the person she chose to get engaged.

Did Marcus Shoberg ditch Harvard for 'The Bachelorette' Season 21 gig?

'The Bachelorette' Season 21 contestant Marcus Shoberg appeared to ditch Harvard to star in the ABC show gig. According to his LinkedIn, Marcus was enrolled in Harvard University to study computer science in 2021. He was set to graduate in 2025, but his ABC bio listed him as an 'alum' of the college which hinted that he had left his studies in midway.

Marcus was also involved in the Undergraduate Veterans Organization at Harvard. He has reflected on his passion for helping military veterans transition back into school after serving their country. In an interview, Marcus shared, "Most of us have a considerable gap from our time when we left school and are now going into a college environment."

The ABC show contestant also claimed that he used third-party services to help with the application process and noted the importance of schools like Harvard having coordinators who can work specifically with veterans on the admissions committee.
