PICKAWAY COUNTY, OHIO: A teacher's aide at Teays Valley West Middle School is facing multiple charges after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old student over two weeks.
The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office stated that 33-year-old Mandy R Davis of South Bloomfield, Ohio, is charged with rape, gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Investigators started probing the case after a concerned employee at the school reported "an odd relationship" between Davis and a student. Davis allegedly had sex with the student numerous times between April 26 and May 11 in her Bloomfield, Ohio home, according to the complaint that was obtained by DailyMail.com

Soon, more information about the alleged relationship and the case came to light when a concerned parent of the student came forward. After further investigation, deputies secured an arrest warrant for Davis, who was taken into custody. After her arrest, detectives from the sheriff's office, South Bloomfield Police Department and Ohio BCI executed a search warrant at her house to secure more evidence related to the case. It is not known if her electronic devices were confiscated as well.
Teays Valley Local Schools issued a statement on Wednesday, May 19, confirming that Davis, who worked part-time "as needed", is no longer employed with the district. "Since this is a pending personnel matter involving a district employee, our practice is not to publicly discuss the specific facts and circumstances. However, we can confirm that Ms Davis has been notified that her services are no longer needed by the Board of Education," it reads. "We take these allegations very seriously and are committed to the safety and well-being of our students as our first priority."
Davis' bond is $250,000, according to Pickaway County Municipal Court. If released, Davis would be required to wear a GPS monitor. Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 27 at 1pm. In Ohio, it is illegal for adults to have sex with anyone under the age of 16 and educators to have sex with students of any age.
