President-elect Joe Biden is the picture of a family man. With four children (two of whom have passed away) and six grandkids, the former vice-president is amazingly close with his relatives. Many of his grandchildren, with the exception of the two youngest -- who are under the age of five -- were seen prominently throughout his campaign for president. Today we will be focusing on one of Biden's grandchildren - 18-year-old Maisy Biden, who was seen with him several times, during campaigns.

The 77-year-old president-elect has six grandchildren in all, five of them ranging in age from 14 to 26, and a newborn grandson that the New York Post reported his son Hunter welcomed with wife Melissa Cohen in March. His grandchildren are, Naomi Biden (26), Finnegan Biden (20), Maisy Biden (18), Natalie Biden (16), Robert "Hunter" Biden II (14) and 2 grandchildren whose names are not revealed were born to Hunter Biden in 2018 and 2019.

Maisy was born to Hunter and his ex-wife Kathleen Hunter. The youngest of Hunter and Kathleen's daughters, she has been a support for her grandfather's side since he was vice president. Not only did she campaign for him during the 2020 election, but she also went on a number of official trips with him during his VP tenure. Maisy is also reportedly very close to Sasha Obama and the two families had a joint celebration for their high school graduations. Naomi and Finnegan Biden are her elder sisters.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden may be at the top of the internet's friendship goals, but they're not the only Bidens and Obamas with a long-standing relationship. Biden's granddaughter, Maisy, and Obama's youngest daughter, Sasha, have been friends for long, and the duo even flew off together on a trip to Miami this past weekend. Maisy and Sasha traveled south to Miami for a girls' trip with some friends this past weekend. The girls reportedly stayed at the upscale Setai Hotel, and were pictured enjoying some beach time over the holiday weekend.

Maisy was seven years old when Biden joined the Democratic Party ticket in 2008 and found a friend in Obama's six-year-old daughter Sasha. The girls have attended the same school for years, and were both students at the exclusive Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.

Maisy, who has an interest in sports, plays basketball on the same team with Sasha, and who President Obama at one time coached. Obama has often gushed about Maisy's abilities as a baller, even bragging to the U.S. women's and men's Olympic basketball teams about her in 2012. He even predicted that she will play National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I basketball in college, and perhaps even go on to play in the WNBA.

In 2019, when Maisy graduated, the entire family got together. In order for the family to get together, Joe skipped the June 2019 Iowa Democrats Hall of Fame Dinner, for which he received backlash from some politicians. He responded to the comments, saying, "My granddaughter was graduating. It was my daughter's birthday. I would skip the inauguration for that...I guess some folks were surprised I made that choice, but I don't know why. There are some things more important than running for president—and my daughter and granddaughter are two of them. So I'll make the same decision every time."
