OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI: Lily Mestemacher, an Arkansas intersexual suspect who self-identifies as a woman, was arrested after reportedly making bomb threat on a college town in Mississippi. The police were made aware of Mestemacher's bomb threat through a social media post that was sent to them.
The Oxford Police Department in Mississippi said that Lily Mestemacher had threatened to attack a place in the city of Oxford on January 31, according to a press release from the department. On February 13, the police department said in the statement, "The Oxford Police Department received information about a social media post where the person mentioned several times about a bomb threat in Oxford. Officers and an Explosive K9 searched the area in question and made sure the area was safe." The suspect was later identified as Mestemacher, who was from Conway, Arkansas, approximately four hours away.

The Conway Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Mestemacher based on the accusation that they had made a fraudulent report of placing explosives. Authorities claim that Mestemacher declined extradition. Mestemacher's bond was set at $50,000 by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge after they were transferred to Oxford on February 10, according to New York Post.

Mestemacher, a 29-year-old woman, was charged on January 31 with making a false claim about placing explosives. Following the release of Mestemacher's mugshot, certain publications and social media accounts claimed that she is a transgender woman, but the Oxford Police Department denied these assertions. "Lily is intersexual and identifies as a woman," Oxford Police Department PIO Breck Jones said in response to an inquiry about whether or not Mestemacher is transgender or nonbinary.
