Lamar Odom had a successful career as a professional basketball player, and gained celebrity status as the husband of Khloe Kardashian. However, his marriage ended in ignominy after infidelity led to his divorce from the 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' star.

Now he is one of the participants in CBS's 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

The show will feature several celebrity faces who will be living together and competing for the grand prize. During his high schooling, Lamar received national player of the year honors from Parade in 1997. Los Angeles Clippers selected Odom with the fourth overall pick in the very first round of the 1999 NBA draft. During his four seasons with the Clippers, Odom was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team. However, the sportsperson was suspended twice for violating the league's anti-drug policy. The sportsperson has proved his mettle in basketball, and it would be interesting to see if he will be able to achieve higher goals in the show? Who is Lamar Odom?

Lamar Odom was born on November 6, 1979, in Queens, New York City. He grew up under the guidance of his grandmother because his mother died of colon cancer when he was 12 years old and his father was struggling with heroin addiction. Odom during his high school played on the same AAU team as future NBA teammates Elton Brand and Ron Artest. 



 

During his first year with the Los Angeles Lakers, Odom injured his left shoulder which forced him to miss the end of the 2004-05 season. Although after battling all the injuries, Odom was limited to 56 games in 2006-07, but ended with an average of 15.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

In 2014, Odom signed with Spanish League's Laboral Kutxa Baskonia and the Euroleague for a two-month deal keeping an option to extend it for the remainder of the season.



 

Recently Lamar Odom was in the headlines after admitting that he dreams about ex-wife Khloe Kadarshian. He said," I had some good dreams last night. I dreamt my ex-wife last night." Although Odom has made it very clear that he and Khloe no longer speak, his revelation hinted that the reality TV star is on his mind all the time. He said, "I miss her so much, I wish I could take that time back."
