Mullets may just become a fashion statement and Kenzie Wheeler will be where it started. Country singer Kenzie Wheeler was introduced to the world as Season 20 of 'The Voice' premiered. But just who is the man behind the mane so to speak?

Kenzie Wheeler is a 22-year-old singer who got bitten by the performance bug at a karaoke performance as a high school freshman. He released a debut album, called 'Dover', which featured ten songs in 2018. The album also included the country song 'Get Down in the South' below. Clearly, Kenzie can sing because he got a four-chair turn after his performance. But it's not just his music that the judges were impressed with. Blake Shelton in particular couldn't get enough of his mullet, but others had their doubts. One fan of the Voice says, "You're a handsome guy, just not sure about the mullet. Great voice though!#@KenzieWheeler". As for who is responsible for the mullet, that would be Kenzie's dad.

Maybe it was Blake's fiddling with his mullet that Kenzie didn't appreciate, but he finally chose team Kelly Clarkson and she couldn't have been more thrilled. Kelly tweeted, "Business in the front... PARTY ON TEAM KELLY Y’ALL!! You’re right at home on Team Kelly @KenzieWheeler
! #TheVoice #TeamKelly."

Many were disappointed that Wheeler didn't end up with Blake. One fan said, "Who else thinks @KenzieWheeler deserved to be on #TeamBlake? He has a killer BS mullet AND was singing Ol’ Red in his preview.. c’mon y’all! #VoicePremiere

But whichever team he is on, Kenzie already has country music fans rooting for him. One of the fans of 'The Voice' said, "Literally the first performer on 'The Voice' and Kenzie Wheeler is the country voice I’ve been waiting for since like 2008." Another fan said, @KenzieWheeler Dude!!! Where have you been hiding???? Country music needs you so much! Thank you for repping country with class. @nbcthevoice."

Kenzie’s Voice audition song was 'Don’t Close Your Eyes' by Keith Whitley.
