David Cross says he didn't know whether to be 'thrilled or excited' on Trump Covid-19 news, fans slam comedian
Standup comedian David Cross stole the limelight when he said he did not know whether to be “thrilled or excited” when he woke up on Friday, October 2, morning to the news that President Donald Trump had tested positive for Covid-19. Trump announced on Friday that he and First Lady Melania had tested positive for Covid-19 by tweeting, “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"

While some people wished Trump and Melania a speedy recovery, Cross decided to make fun of it. He wrote, "When I awoke to the news this morning I didn't know whether to be thrilled or excited." In his next tweet, Cross still mocked the first family and offered his “thoughts and prayers” to Melania’s personal trainer rather than the first lady herself. He wrote, "Sending thoughts and prayers out to Melania's trainer."

As soon as Cross's tweet came into light, people started slamming him for his comments. One Internet user wrote: "Tired of so called celebrities that most people don't know who they are, keep yapping about president Trump," while another angry user said, "Maybe it time to get out the old movies and stop watching TV shows, movies and encouraging/supporting these actors and actresses who are so negative and disrespectful."

"He is such a funny actor and I love Arrested Development. His comment is not surprising but still extremely disappointing. Why would you wish bad for people?," asked a user. Another wrote, "If the so-called silent majority would just dump the entire entertainment industry they would fold like a cheap suit. But they won't."
