GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS: Police officers in Grand Prairie, Texas have arrested a teenager on Wednesday, November 4, under suspicions of murdering actor Eddie Hassell during a random robbery on November 1.

D’Jon Antone, 18, was arrested US Marshal Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force for murdering 30-year-old Hassell, according to the Grand Prairie Police Department. Antone is being taken to the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $500,000. Investigators ruled that the robbery was random and Antone is not a citizen of Grand Prairie. The case is being transferred to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office.

Hassel appeared in the 2010 Oscar-nominated film 'The Kids Are All Right' and the NBC series 'Surface'. His other accolades include, 'Devious Maids', 'Jobs' with Ashton Kutcher, 'Family Weekend' with Joey King and most recently 'Bomb City'. Eddie’s dog Reef was a huge part of his life and even starred alongside him in several roles. His family has described his interests saying, "When he wasn’t in front of the camera, Eddie spent much of his time working at BSR (Barefoot Sky Ranch) in Waco, Texas – where he called himself the “Wave DJ” and full time “Kook Inspector” – his antics and over-the-top personality won over patrons and colleagues alike."

Hassel was killed on November 1 after being shot multiple times on the 3000 Block of West Bardin Road in Grand Prairie at 1:50 am ET during an alleged carjacking outside Hassell’s girlfriend’s apartment, according to KPRC. First responders found Hassell suffering from a gunshot wound and took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Houston news station reported.

Hassell's family members have also created a GoFundMe fundraiser, where they have described him as "funny, kind, loving and was always ready to have a good time. To Eddie, the family was everything and he loved them fiercely." "Donations will be used to cover funeral expenses," the GoFundMe statement reads.

The fundraiser which was created on Wednesday, November 4, has raised $6,890 of the $10,000 goal.
