Who was Christine Michael? Tennessee girl, 18, shot dead by classmates on way home from basketball game
HAYWOOD, TENNESSEE: Christine Michael, a Tennessee high school girl was shot to death while driving home from a basketball game with friends on Friday, February 10, 2023. The girl was returning to Brownsville on Highway 19 from Ripley, where she had been watching a high school basketball game in a vehicle with friends, when someone suddenly started shooting at them, according to a statement given by Haywood County Sheriff Billy Garrett Jr on February 11.
Following the tragic incident, Haywood County officials have arrested and charged 18 year-old Kevion Davis, and 16 year-old Bishop Owens with first-degree murder in connection to Christine's death. Authorities are seeking additional charges against each individual while they are both being held without bond. Besides, Christine, there was a 13-year-old girl in the same vehicle who was also injured in the attack, but the driver was unharmed.

Who is Christine Michael?
17 year-old Christine Michael was the class president at Haywood High School in Brownsville. She was a very smart girl who reportedly had a 4.0 GPA. She was quite ambitious and goal-oriented and wanted to be a modelor work for CNN, her friends told FOX13. Besides studying, she also works as a part-time library clerk for the Elma Ross Public Library.
Prayers for the departed soul
Haywood High School students grieved the loss of their beloved class president. Prayers for the departed soul and condolences for her family poured in. Haywood High's principle in a Facebook post wrote, "Class President. SCA President. HOSA. Softball. Number one of her class. 4.0 GPA. Homecoming representative. Completing associates degree before graduating next year. Former cheerleader. Christine embodied everything you want in a student. But more importantly, you could see her soul. It was perfect. I don’t have words. May God wrap her friends and family in his grace during this time of great loss."
Christine's colleagues at the Elma Ross Public Library have made a memorial table for her where her friends or anyone who has been associated with her can write a few words about the lost soul.
Sheriff Billy Garrett Jr also shared his condolences with Christine's family with a Facebook post. He wrote, "The incident that took the life of Christine Michael on Friday night will forever change the lives of a great many people. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Michael family during this extremely difficult time, and we want to support and uplift them as they work through the pain that this tragedy has brought to their family."
