On Monday, March 21, the dispute between Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 Certified Entertainment reached new heights when the company filed a countersuit against the Houston rapper. Megan Thee Stallion's latest album for 1501, according to the label's CEO Carl Crawford, wasn't really an album at all, and they want more from the 27-year-old. Megan, on the other hand, seemed to think the notion is ridiculous, and she resorted to Twitter to express her complaints with her former label, referring to them as 'greedy men.'

She wrote, “Let me goooo. First, the man over my label said I don’t make him any money … now he counter suing trying to keep me on his label because he wants to make more money lol if I ain’t making you no money why not just drop me?” “My lawyers asked him for an expense report(money 1501 supposedly has spent on ME)… why this grown ass man put his jewelry and chains on there… lord free me from this joke ass label.” she added.

U can keep that bullshit ass mix tape and send over that straight drop whenever u ready,” he wrote in the caption. Megan Thee Stallion, on the other hand, was far from done, as she proceeded to slam Crawford in the aftermath of his Instagram post, tweeting, “Carl I don’t wanna be signed to yo pill popping ass! You talking abt I ain’t paid for a show and you sound slow. Im the artist I don’t pay you directly maybe fight with THE MAN YOU SIGNED TO AND YOU MIGHT SEE SOME MONEY YOU FUCKING POWDER HEAD! She went on to say, “Carl you got a wholeeee contact with 300 and talking shit to me like I got yo f**king money! You are ATTACKING ME ..why? Bc you want to be FAMOUS NOT RICH. According to the official website of 1501 Certified Entertainment, Carl Crawford, a former MLB outfielder, originally considered founding a record company in 2010. He started putting his grand plan into action once he retired in 2016. Crawford founded 1501 Certified Entertainment in order to provide unknown and underserved musicians with a platform to grow and flourish. According to Complex, Megan Thee Stallion was enraged last month when she saw Crawford's Instagram post announcing her intention to drop her lawsuit against the label and Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prince. He wrote in the caption, “only the real [H] town can relate. Now tell em to run my bread dating all the way back from 2018.”

Megan updated her position on Instagram, stating that she is still suing him for money she claimed 1501 Certified Entertainment owes her. She wrote, “this dude never know wtf is going on with his business. The case that Was dismissed against you was from when you wasn’t trying to let me drop music … you and 300 signed off and let me drop music so there is no case no more… we are most definitely STILL IN COURT and YOU STILL GETTING SUED BC YOU OWE ME MONEY!!!” “I AINT NEVER BEEN PAID FROM 1501 IN MY LIFE ! I make money bc im MEGAN THEE STALLION ! Grown ass men wanna bully me and eat off my name and paint me out as a villain online bc they know these bandwagon ass haters gone eat that shit up! I dont even be saying shit to you lame ass n-ggas bc the TRUTH always comes out,” the singer added.

The complaint she was referring to was first filed in March 2020, after she accused 1501 Certified Entertainment and J. Prince of preventing her from releasing new music after she requested a renegotiation of an unfair contract she signed at the start of her career. "It's a whole lie," Crawford said at the time, dismissing the charges. “Nothing is true that she said. Me being greedy and taking money from her, that’s crazy. I never tried to take nothing from her. The only thing we ever did was give, give, give,” he added.
