Who is Amira Lollysa? Meet the '90 Day Fiance' star who was held at a detention center in Mexico

This season seems to be off to a rocky start for Amira Lollysa and Andrew Kenton, who have us all wondering — will they make it?

When it comes to '90 day' couples, there is absolutely no telling of who will make it and who will break it. This season has us looking at some familiar faces and being introduced to some new cast members.

Between all the drama and chaos, one couple that initially took the back seat was Andrew Kenton and Amira Lollysa — their story didn't grab much attention. But when Lollysa decided to fly to Mexico from France to meet Kenton, fans were skeptical, seeing that she was doing so in the middle of the pandemic. Rightfully enough, the situation ended very badly for her. She was detained at the airport and then had to spend three days at a detention center before she was allowed to travel back to France. Lollysa seemed visibly traumatized and upset over this; she even broke down on camera.

What made matters far worse was the fact that she revealed the whole travel plan was Kenton's idea. He claimed that he does a lot for her, traveling to Mexico is something that she should do for him. Their relationship seems incredibly rocky at the moment. But what drew Lollysa to Kenton in the first place? Here's a deeper look at who Amira Lollysa is.

She is from Saumur in France

Lollysa fails from the town of Saumur, France, a two-hour ride away from Paris. While the town itself looks lovely, Lollysa doesn't seem enchanted by it, she mentioned that she never quite fit in and is always looking for adventure. The men there didn't particularly appeal to her either, which led her to look for love elsewhere.

Lollysa is half-Egyptian and half-French

Lollysa looks gorgeous, although she doesn't look French (until she speaks, that is, her accent is a dead giveaway). Lollysa is Egyptian possibly from her father's side, based on his accent, as we recently saw him in the last episode for a brief moment. Having been born and brought up in France, she is fluent in French, and by the looks of it, her English is pretty good too.

Lollysa met her now-fiancé, Andrew Kenton, online

Lollysa mentioned that her life in Saumur, France, did not appeal to her at all, she wanted something far more adventurous and exciting. She also never quite felt at home in France, which was the main reason she signed up on an international dating website. She did manage to do so in the arms of Kenton.

The two began to talk and planned a trip to Las Vegas. Kenton was convinced that she was the woman for him and ended up proposing to her. Lollysa said yes and the rest is history.
