Who is Bereliz Nichole? Felix Verdejo’s GF Keishla Rodriguez’s sister says scammers asking money for funeral
Former Olympic boxer Félix Verdejo Sánchez was arrested on Sunday, May 2, for the kidnapping and murder of his 27-year-old pregnant girlfriend Keishla Rodríguez Ortiz. But it was not before the incident sent a resounding alarm in Puerto Rico about the urgency of gender violence. Keishla's family had called out her married boyfriend shortly after her disappearance. Her sister Bereliz Nichole was also making appeals for her then-missing sister on social media.
Shortly after all this, Verdejo turned himself in to the Puerto Rican police department on May 2. This was just a day after Keishla's family had received the shocking news of their daughter's death.

The victim's mother Keila Ortiz had reportedly urged authorities to investigate Verdejo's whereabouts after her daughter disappeared on April 29. Calling him a murderer, she told reporters, "He is not the diamond. The diamond was my daughter!" referring to the moniker "El Diamante" or "The Diamond." She had even warned her daughter to be careful and that Verdejo is a "public figure".
Add to that the fact the Verdejo was married with a daughter. Eliz Marie Santiago Sierra and Verdejo tied the knot about eight years ago, and the two have a child named Miranda. According to the latest local reports, "His wife, Eliz Santiago Sierra, was also interviewed and confirmed to authorities that she was aware that Verdejo and Rodríguez Ortiz knew each other and had a relationship."
Ever since Keishla's disappearance, her sister Bereliz was also posting on social media seeking help. She also spoke to the media about the case. According to local reports, she said that Keishla had met Verdejo way before he met his current wife. She also reportedly mentioned that three months ago, Verdejo and his wife confronted Keishla about the relationship.
Who is Bereliz Nichole?
After her sister's disappearance, Bereliz Nichole made use of her thousands of followers on social media to spread the word. With over 90,000 followers on Instagram (at the time of writing this article), words of solidarity were conveyed, but no news of her sister. And then on May 1, her body was found in a lagoon.
She has now come forward to reveal that there are some people out there taking advantage of the situation. According to local reports, Bereliz posted videos to her social media about fake accounts operating to collect money for Keishla's funeral.
According to these videos she posted on social media, Bereliz announced that her family will be receiving donations from ATH Móvil to help with the costs of the funeral ceremonies.
"They have sent me pages of networks that are putting my information, collecting funds, because it was false," Bereliz reportedly said according to a local publication.
Earlier, when posting a plea for donations on social media, Bereliz had in part written for those seeking to donate, "Here is the information on where you can help us with funeral expenses. Thank you all. God bless you." Bereliz has been dedicating all her Instagram stories to her sister Keishla.
