Ever since deckhand Tom Pearson was fired for running Parsifal III aground, 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht's deck crew had to put in some extra work to make sure everything went smoothly. After all the safety and comfort of the charter guests is an important factor when it comes to tips. After weeks of back-breaking work with little to no sleep, first officer Gary King finally got to heave a sigh of relief when he heard that Tom's replacement would soon be joining the deck team.

Tom's replacement turned out to be a man named Barnaby Birkbeck. Based on the preview clip released by Bravo it seems like Barnaby not only managed to impress his new boss Gary but also Captain Glenn Shephard, chief stew Daisy Kelliher, Colin Macrae, and Marcos Spaziani, who all comment on Barnaby's good looks and declare that he is the kind of boy you would take home to introduce to your parents! Aside from his good looks, Barnaby also appears to have a very impressive CV that made a pretty strong impression on Captain Glenn. If you're curious to know more about the new deckhand on the Bravo show, then keep reading.

Who is the new deckhand Barnaby Birkbeck?

Just like Tom, Barnaby too hails from England, This Brighton native is a true world traveller though. During a conversation with his co-star Kelsie Goglia, he revealed that he was in Greece when he got a call and was offered a job aboard Parsifal III. He explained, " was in Greece when I got the call. I was on a private island there teaching some Greek billionaires how to, like, eFoil and wakeboard, and that kind of thing. I'm a water sports instructor, really. I guess it's kind of similar to this, just without the water sports."

He revealed that he had some very high-profile clients as well over the years. "When I was 18, I had a very lucky break with going to Necker Island and teaching kitesurfing to the rich and famous. That's on my CV, like, Barack Obama, Richard Branson, boom, let's go, let's go, let's go." Being surrounded by billionaires all the time and watching their lavish lifestyles can turn anyone green with envy, and it's no different with Barnaby either. He revealed, "When you work on superyachts or you work on private islands, you know what kind of lifestyle [clients] have, and that's annoying because I want it so badly.

Unlike many of his peers, Barnaby doesn't have much experience working on a superyacht. In fact, Parsifal III is the second superyacht he has ever worked on, but that doesn't seem to stop him from feeling excited about it. Barnaby immediately got to work and effortlessly juggled between his many tasks, and even managed to squeeze in some time to help out Daisy. This left both Gary and Daisy raving about the new crew member.

While working aboard superyachts may be a new thing for Barnaby, being in the water isn't. He shared, "I grew up in Singapore, and I started sailing when I was 11. Dad bought a boat. Eventually, we were racing it, and we realized, 'Wow, we're actually quite good at this.' And then suddenly, we were winning Singapore national championship. We were happy with that, so we went for it and got a fast racing boat, and went off and sailed it as fast and as hard as I can, and I love it!"

Aside from teaching water sports and being a deckhand on Parsifal III, Barnaby is also a serial entrepreneur. According to his LinkedIn profile, he founded Funky Face Masks, Barnaby's Tapcards, Barnaby's Brushes, and Electric Car Converts, He also holds a degree in geography and business management from the University of Leeds. Considering all the hustle, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he managed to buy a Porsche for himself in December 2021. He took to his Instagram to reveal his latest purchase with the caption, "Work hard and achieve your dreams earlier than you think kids!! Here’s what I’ve dreamt about for a long time. (Swipe for the noise she makes)."

We can't wait to learn more about Barnaby in the upcoming episodes of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht'.

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Season 3 airs every Monday at 8/7c on Bravo.
