Who are the new coaches of 'The Voice' Season 26? Fans dub new panel 'unpredictable but so iconic'
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' is bringing some swagger and soul to Season 26! This autumn, Michael Bublé and rapper Snoop Dogg will join the cast as coaches, NBC revealed on May 13, and fans can't contain their feelings.
The singer and rapper join returning mentors Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani to complete the all-star lineup.
"Folks, we’ve got a rookie taking the chair. I can’t wait for him to join us — so I can beat him," Reba said onstage at the upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall in New York. "Everyone, please welcome the D-O-double-G, Snoop Dogg!"
The famed rapper then grabbed the stage and rearranged the words to his 1994 hit 'Gin and Juice'. "With so much drama in the LBC, it’s kinda hard being Snoop on NBC," he said.
Snoop subsequently expressed his enthusiasm about joining the gang. "Since Reba is the queen of ‘The Voice’ who brings the sparkle, I can be the king who brings the style, the funk, and the fun," he stated.
'The Voice' fans call Season 26 coaching lineup 'crazy'
Snoop previously featured as a mega mentor on 'The Voice' in Season 20, and Michael is also familiar with the program. The Grammy-winning musician served as a mentor to Blake Shelton's squad in Season 3.
Snoop and Michael will replace Chance the Rapper, Dan + Shay, and singer John Legend as mentors in Season 26. Reacting to the news, fans took to Reddit to share their "honest" feelings.
One user wrote, "THIS PANEL IS SO UNPREDICTABLE BUT SO ICONIC." Another person described it as, "CRAZY LINEUP."
Others echoed the emotion, writing, "It's so out of left field that I don't think anyone could have predicted this can't wait to see how this panel does." A fourth person wrote, "NBC better be ready on that censor when Snoop goes live."
One user further commented, "This is so unhinged." While some complained, "Wish that the show wasn't so much about the coache and that they could keep some consistency from season-to-season."
