CINCINNATI, OHIO: Rose Lavelle will be unavailable for the United States women's national soccer team's (USWNT) upcoming Round of 16 match in the World Cup. Lavelle received a yellow card in the 39th minute during the team's final Group E match against Portugal on August 1. This is Lavelle's second yellow card in the tournament and she will be automatically suspended for the next game.

The yellow card incident occurred during a midfield challenge where Lavelle attempted to steal the ball from multiple Portuguese players. However, she clipped Dolores Silva's leg in the process, leading to the caution.

Who are Rose Lavelle's parents?

Rose was born into a close-knit Catholic family in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her parents Marty and Janet Donnellon Lavelle have always been supportive of her athletic pursuits. Rose has three siblings, John, Nora, and Mary Lavelle, all of whom were raised in Cincinnati. Sports runs in the family, as her father, Marty, is also an enthusiast.

Despite their daughter's success, Marty and Janet Lavelle have kept a low profile. Marty, Rose's father, has an impressive 25-year experience in basketball. However, it is undoubtedly challenging for the father-daughter duo to cope with Rose's absence as she travels around the world for her games.

Rose's remarkable growth and success in soccer can be attributed to the inseparable bond between her parents, who provided her with strong support and encouragement. This support system was evident from an early age, as at the age of 10, she hid her broken leg from her parents for two days, displaying her concern about them worrying even at such a young age.
