BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: Gigi Jordan, a 62-year-old millionaire pharmaceutical executive who murdered her eight-year-old autistic son, Jude Mirra, was found dead inside her home in Stuyvesant Heights on December 30, 2022, around 12.30 am. The cause of death is yet to be determined, but authorities are investigating Jordan’s death as a possible suicide

The Daily Mail reported that Jordan was accused of force-feeding Mirra a lethal dose of pills mixed with alcohol and orange juice in February 2010 inside a room at the Peninsula Hotel in Manhattan. She was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter in 2014 and sentenced to 18 years in prison in 2015. During the trial, Jordan said that she feared she would be unable to protect her son because her first husband, Philadelphia businessman Raymond Mirra Jr, planned to have her killed or institutionalised, and Emil Tzekov, her second husband and Jude's biological father, would gain custody of her son.

Gigi Jordan first husband Raymond Mirra Jr

Raymond Mirra Jr, Jordan's first husband was a successful entrepreneur who enjoyed success in business ventures throughout his life. He is currently a managing partner of the Rx Depot, a pharmacy-chain in Philadelphia that he founded. Jordan, a registered nurse, married Mirra on December 14,1998, after they had partnered in several hugely successful medical companies.

While speaking to the Daily News in 2012, Jordan claimed that she didn't know about Mirra's close ties to the ruthless Philadelphia mob with whom, she alleges, he was secretly involved in a massive black market racket for HIV and hemophiliac prescription drugs through his company, Melville-based Allion Healthcare.

In 2015, Mirra filed a defamation lawsuit against Jordan, stating her testimony at trial ruined his reputation. According to NY Post, Mirra claimed that Jordan damaged his public image by testifying that he stole from her and threatened to have her killed because, she asserted, she knew he was connected to the Mafia. “Ms. Jordan testified that she had poisoned Jude to death by feeding him over 50 pills of various prescription sedatives,” the lawsuit said, adding, “However, she attempted to mitigate her culpability by telling ludicrous falsehoods about Mr. Mirra that, she claimed, diminished her responsibility for taking Jude’s life.” The case was settled roughly a year later, as per the New York Post.

Gigi Jordan's second husband Emil Tzekov

According to the Daily News, in 2001, Jordan, then 39, separated from Mirra and met Emil Tzekov, a Bulgarian yoga instructor, at her Manhattan gym and together they conceived Jude. Tzekov relinquished legal parental rights to Jude. Still, he continued to see Jude from time to time. Then, Mirra, who was still Jordan's husband and business partner, legally adopted Jude. Mirra and Jordan divorced in November 2001. Six days later, Jordan married Tzekov, even though Mirra was Jude's legally adoptive father. Jordan divorced Tzekov in 2006.

While speaking to the Daily News, Jordan echoed what she had said in her court fillings, "When Jude was old enough to communicate, he informed me that his father had been sexually abusing him since he was a baby. The horrific trauma was the cause of Jude's emotional and developmental problems. I went to law enforcement officials in three states. I couldn't get anyone to prosecute his biological father."

Tzekov has vehemently denied Jordan's accusations and told the Daily News, "It's clear to me that she was totally insane. It doesn't make any sense. . . . The police know better. They talked to me afterward. They know it's not true." NYPD sources confirmed at the time that there was no proof of molestation and Tzekov has not been charged with any crime as per the Daily News.

Jordan's conviction for manslaughter charges were overturned in 2020 due to a procedural misstep and she was placed under home confinement on a $250,000 bond.
