WASHINGTON, DC: Late Senator Dianne Feinstein's $62 million private plane and portfolio of properties worth $102 million will reportedly be passed down to her daughter and three stepdaughters.

The Democratic senator from California died on September 29, 2023, at the age of 90, bringing an era to an end.

Feinstein, a political veteran, left behind a legacy that may be observed in her daughter Katherine Feinstein as well as in her many accomplishments.

The late California congresswoman left behind a $21 million Italianate estate with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay.

Feinstein commuted from San Francisco on a pre-owned Gulfstream G650 jet, wore pricey jewelry, and flitted from one home to another.

Democrat Feinstein, whose enormous fortune aroused questions, died in a $7.4 million mansion she owned in Washington, DC.

Sen Feinstein's second marriage to billionaire businessman and Blum Capital Partners founder Richard Blum, who died in February 2022, is largely responsible for her wealth.

Katherine is Feinstein's only child. She also has three stepdaughters from her deceased husband Richard.

However, the couple's children are currently engaged in a heated battle over the portfolio, which is thought to be worth more than $160 million, according to the New York Post.

Dianne Feinstein has one daughter and 3 stepdaughters

Dianne Feinstein received a $1 million yearly income from Blum's trust after his cancer-related death at age 86 in 2022, and the trust was kept separate from the marital trust.

Following the Californian senator's death, the couple's large estate would be shared between Feinstein's own daughter Katherine Feinstein, a San Francisco judge, and Blum's 3 daughters from his previous marriage — Annette Blum, Heidi Riley, and Eileen Blum Bourgarde.

Katherine Feinstein, the late Senator Feinstein's only child, has made a name for herself as a formidable public worker. Currently serving as the President of the San Francisco Fire Commission and a former judge, Katherine shares her mother's dedication to serving the community.

Katherine's father is Feinstein's ex-husband Jack Berman. She worked as a judge for the San Francisco Superior Court for 12 years before resigning in 2012.

Despite appearing to follow in her mother's political career, Katherine has stated that she would never consider running for the political process, as per The Sun.

Katherine has been married to Rick Mariano, a real estate agent and broker headquartered in San Francisco, who held a position at Blum Capital, the stock investment management company founded by Richard Blum.

Katherine and Rick have a daughter named Eileen Feinstein Mariano. Eileen, the 45th mayor of San Francisco, administers state and federal affairs for London Breed, having followed in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother.

How did Feinstein's daughters divide the $102 million portfolio?

The senator and Blum's marital trust, which contained most of their assets and bank accounts, was sued by Katherine, the senator's daughter and legal representative, over the collection of houses.

With their opulent real estate holdings and a collection of financial accounts housed in a marriage trust, Feinstein and Blum had prepared for their deaths.

The couple's San Francisco home, one of the costliest assets up for grabs, is probably going to be the biggest cause of disagreement in how they divide the portfolio, as per Daily Mail.

The opulent residence, constructed in 1917, is a beautiful mansion situated on the city's famous Lyon Steps and offers sweeping views of San Francisco Bay.

The house is almost three times the price of Feinstein's DC apartment, which is valued at $7.4 million, and is located in the exclusive American University Park district.

The 1936 French Revival house and its grounds, which also contain a pool house, guest house, and carriage house, were bought in 2001 for $5.1 million.

The bitter fight between her daughter Katherine and, subsequently, Blum's children, which began this year, was centered on the waterfront mansion.

Katherine filed a lawsuit against the trust that owned the property, claiming that Blum's daughters were trying to delay the sale of the 3,600 square foot front home so they could use it at her expense, while her mother wanted to sell it because she would not use it without her husband.

According to the LA Times, she has also alleged that the funds intended for medical costs are currently in purgatory because of the home's delay in going on the market.

Although it seems as though Feinstein's death will put an end to the conflict, the possibility of one of her children suing the other three could lead to a conflict over the estate.
