After news of a coronavirus outbreak inside the White House continued to make create new headlines following President Trump and several members of his inner circle testing positive for COVID-19, CBS White House correspondent Ben Tracy, tweeted that he felt safer working in a communist country with a dictatorship like North Korea which is known for its gross violation of human rights than he did covering the daily news inside the POTUS' residence.

“I felt safer reporting in North Korea than I currently do reporting at The White House. This is just crazy,” Tracy tweeted on Monday, October 5, the same day that the president returned back to the White House merely three days after being admitted to the Walter Reed Military Medical Center for the treatment of the virus.

Soon after his tweet went viral, an array of conservatives took the opportunity to slam Tracy. “Yes the White House is just like North Korea, other than the beatings, starvation, lack of electricity, organ harvesting, punishment of your parents, your children, your extended family on the basis of your network’s reporting. You are a clown,” tweeted lawyer and GOP official Harmeet Dhillon while Curtis Houck of Newsbusters said, "This is absolutely bonkers. Never underestimate the ability of national journalists to make everything about themselves. This take is trying to make it seem like being a White House reporter is akin to being an active duty soldier. If Ben Tracy would have made one big screw-up while reporting in North Korea, he wouldn’t have just become ‘sick.’ He would have likely been tortured a la the late Otto Warmbier or worse."

“Trust me, the public would gladly like to see you guys leave the White House. Overdramatic, professional pitch fitters. You can leave. No one will cry. Or we can call the Wambulance considering this job just may be too much for you,” tweeted Daily Caller contributor Kambree Koa.

“According to DRNK’s three-generation rule, if you or your relative commits a crime, you & the next three generations of your family must also spend their life in labor camp, including unborn children but I’m glad you felt safe in North Korea, Ben,” tweeted The Red-Headed Libertarian.

Others also chimed in, and they asked Tracy to move to North Korea instead of covering the White House. "Ben Tracy is crazy. He can always move to North Korea," one said, while another wrote, "I think we would all feel safer if Ben Tracy stayed in North Korea!! We have enough crazy people here!" A third commented, "The problem with this story is Sissy Ben Tracy was never allowed to leave the airport in NK upon arrival & was simply sent out."

Another quipped, "If Ben Tracy, a CBS reporter feels safer in North Korea than he does at the White House, it might be in the best interest to him and even more.......US, that he moves there. Then, we'd all be happier!" Someone else wrote, "Ben Tracy Feel free to go back to North Korea. Please ask after Kim and see how his sister is faring." While another said, "House.#bentracy is a traitor. In #NK he would be beheaded. Obviously not an intelligent person. He does not know the security &political repercussions his words are having globally. They attack all those suffering under communist iron fist. Many are talking irresponsibly."
