PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO: ‘The Amazing Race’ Season 36 was filmed in the vibrant Puerto Vallarta during the pandemic.

The adventure-packed journey of this season kicks off at a starting line in Mexico, and from there, the teams will embark on a thrilling race across various countries. The destinations include Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Barbados, and the Dominican Republic. Notably, this season marks the show's inaugural visit to both the Dominican Republic and Barbados. The race will eventually conclude in Philadelphia back in the United States.

'The Amazing Race' Season 36 brings a unique history, impacted by the unprecedented events of the COVID-19 pandemic. Season 33 faced an extended hiatus from February 2020 to September 2021, resulting in alterations to the race format. With teams traveling exclusively within Europe and transportation facilitated by an official Amazing Race plane, the dynamics shifted. Season 34 faced a notable COVID-related incident where a team had to exit the race due to a positive test. Season 35 witnessed a return to commercial travel and the discontinuation of the charter plane, signaling a shift in COVID restrictions.

As Season 36 was filmed before these changes, the extent to which pandemic protocols influence the upcoming season remains to be seen.
