BUDAPEST, HUNGARY: The World Athletics Championship 2023 is scheduled to take place in Europe this time around. Among the year’s biggest sporting events, it will be organized between August 19, and August 27 which is just around 20 days away. The sports enthusiast will witness over 2,000 elite athletes representing almost 200 nations in these nine days. You can get tickets online at the official website and be part of the history.

However, there will be no requirement of the ticket for the Marathon and Race Walking competitions, since it will take place on the streets of the city. There will be two sessions where the multiple world champions will be declared in nine evening sessions and five-morning programs. The price range for the sessions is pegged between 7 USD and 54 USD, subject to the location of the seat. One can also benefit from the special offers and discounts for families and group bookings. Fans can also opt for packages that will assure that not a single moment is missed.



 

Where is the World Athletics Championship 2023 being held?

The World Athletics Championship 2023 is being organized in Budapest, Hungary, a country that has always been passionate about sports of all forms. The nine-day event kick starts on August 19 with Men’s shot put qualification, Mixed 4x400m heats, Heptathlon, and Men’s hammer throw qualification among other events. A new state-of-art National Athletics Centre will host the competition. The last season took place in Oregon, US, and has now moved to Europe, as per World Athletics.

This is also the 19th edition, and the following World Athletics Championship is scheduled in Tokyo, Japan. “The 2025 World Athletics Championships will see the sport’s biggest stars return to Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium, venue for last year’s Olympic Games, in the year that the Japanese Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) celebrates its centenary year,” as per a press release.

'Infront buys the telecast rights'

The telecast rights of the World Athletics Championship have now been bought by Infront. "Our partnership with World Athletics is built on trust and a shared vision for the growth of athletics. We are proud to be recognized as a key partner for one-day meetings in athletics, and our efforts on the Continental Tour have helped us boost the exposure of the World Indoor Tour," said Julien Ternisien, Infront Senior Vice President of Summer Sports.

Interestingly, Europe will be hosting the Olympics in 2024 in France, and it has taken the baton from Tokyo.
