FAYETTE, OHIO: Renae Harris's shoulder and back tumors were forcing her to withdraw from public view, jeopardizing her profession as a care pastor. However, in the season finale of 'Take My Tumor,' Dr Jason Cohen carefully removed the mass from her shoulder, restoring her much-needed confidence.

11 weeks after the surgery, Renae joyously celebrated her 23rd anniversary alongside her husband, Doug. She was confident again to wear sleeveless and feel beautiful in her skin.

Renae also received results from the pathology lab confirming that her tumor was non-cancerous, bringing her immense relief. With the tumor removed, she eagerly returned to her role as a care pastor and happily resumed playing guitar for her church band.

Who is Renae Harris in 'Take My Tumor'?

Renae, 65, from Fayette, Ohio, had undergone the excision of a lump from her shoulder and back before her appearance on the May 8 episode of 'Take My Tumor'. Unfortunately, it had returned, raising concerns.

With its return, the lump had grown substantially, prompting Renae to explore alternative options. Given her family's history of cancer, Renae couldn't shake the fear that her lump might also be cancerous.

When Renae looks in the mirror, she can't stop the negative voices in her head that call her "ugly." Despite being a member of her church's band, she has always felt uneasy discussing it. With a mother who battled breast cancer and a father who fought bone cancer, Renae harbored fears that she might not live long enough to cherish moments with her grandchildren.

What happened to Renae Harris in 'Take My Tumor'?

During her visit with Dr Cohen, Renae disclosed that she had her lump removed 30 years ago, only for it to resurface 10–12 years later. Surprisingly, between that time and her current appointment, she hadn't sought medical attention from another doctor.

Dr Cohen was concerned that Renae's back lump might be malignant, particularly given her family history. The recurrence of the tumor posed numerous challenges for the 'Take My Tumor' doctor.

Dr Cohen was worried that if the lump was deeply rooted into the muscle, that could pose much bigger problems for the surgery. Before making an incision, he outlined the border of the mass on Renae's body during the surgical procedure.

Using electrocautery, Dr Cohen went under the skin, and upon finding the fatty growth, he skillfully excised the entire tumor. However, he observed that the lump was tightly adhered to the muscle, indicating a prolonged recovery period for Renae.

Despite the challenges, Dr Cohen was pleased with the outcome of the surgery. The excision of the lump proceeded smoothly, with the entire mass being removed. Subsequently, he sent the lump to a pathologist for the final diagnosis.
