ROMAN FOREST, TEXAS: Police are searching for a Texas mom who allegedly abandoned her 12-year-old daughter and three-year-old son at home alone for nearly two months. Raven Yates, 31, left her two young children alone to care for each other without adequate food and no concern for their health or medical needs.
The incident allegedly occurred last year. The concerned father of the 12-year-old (not living with them) called 911 on November 14, reporting the two children had been staying alone since September 28. An arrest warrant has been issued for Yates who is charged with two counts of abandoning/endangering a child without the intent to return, the department said. Reports claim the mother was last spotted in Alabama.

Where is Raven Yates?
A family member allegedly spotted Yates in Mobile, Alabama without her children and then contacted the 12-year-old girl's father. It is reported that both children have different fathers. The girl's father who lives in California immediately flew to Texas after informing police of the horrific condition the children were living in. When police arrived at the house, there was “no food in the house; everything was empty,” said Roman Forest police chief, Stephen Carlisle. “There were some dry beans and spices. That was it,” reported The Sun.
Investigators said the children had limited access to food and medicine after noting that the fridge and cabinets were also nearly empty. “A 12-year-old cannot take care of a 3-year-old for a long period of time, especially over a month and a half,” said Carlisle. “It's dangerous and irresponsible of a parent. Without medical supplies or ways to get food, that's very dangerous.” However, the kids appeared healthy, said the police.
'Hunt for Raven Yates is ongoing!'
“I guess the 12-year-old was very resourceful. But she shouldn’t have had to do that,” Carlisle said. The father claimed that he realized the children had been left alone after his daughter would regularly ask him to send food. Police said the children had never been enrolled in school for the entire year they lived in Texas. Another shocking revelation stunned the police — they found out that the mother has a third child, a 14-year-old, who had run away from home. All three children are now safe and living with their grandmother in Alabama, cops said. Texas police are working with Roman Forest Police Department to find and arrest the mother-of-three.
