Where is Kate Gosselin? Daughter Hannah Gosselin explains why she chose NOT to live with her
Jon and Kate Gosselin's daughter, Hannah Gosselin, is an adult now. She turned 18 along with her other five siblings on May 10. Hannah, Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Joel, and Leah were all were born on the same day in May 2004. On the occasion of their 18th birthday, Hannah and her half-Korean father sat down together for a conversation with ET, where the young woman revealed why she chose to live with Jon and not Kate.
She said, “I chose to live with my dad, I feel like I just made the choice for myself. I have always been closer with my dad and we've always had a strong good relationship. It's a lot, growing up in a very busy household with lots of kids. And there's not really a one-on-one relationship, for attention, that you have with your parent. I felt like my dad gave me that attention and a feeling like I had a good solid relationship with a parent.”

Hannah lived with her father and brother Collin until August 2021. Her other four siblings stay with their mother. Hannah explained: “It was a difficult decision leaving my siblings. I did not want to be separated from them or even, like, live in a different household than them. But I just feel like there was unfair treatment in my mom's house and I just wanted to live with my dad.”
The aspiring businesswoman, who has recently launched her skincare company, Gosselin Girl Beauty, also spoke about her equation with her mum. She remarked: “I mean we don't really speak on a basis of, like, 'Oh, how's your life going?' It's more like day-to-day, 'Oh how's your day?' But I’m pretty sure she's doing well. And I’m sure my siblings are doing well too.”
Hannah continued: “She just, you know, wished me a happy birthday. You know, told me she loved me and it was great, an average birthday text,” before adding: “100 percent, I miss my siblings. I mean, we all do share, like, the same birthday, it's a big day for all of us today. As soon as I woke up they texted me happy birthday and I sent them a happy birthday text back.”
Jon also shared his thoughts since all his kids — including the twins, Madelyn and Cara, who are both 21 — are adults now. He told ET: “I am free! Free! Free in the aspect of I have adult children now. Now it's time for me to move on - dating - moving on with my own life. It's like starting over pretty much.”
The 45-year-old father wished his other four kids a very happy birthday as he noted, “Hey guys, happy birthday! I know I haven't talked to you in a long time. Just know that I'm in your corner. I'm proud of you. I love you and if you ever, ever need anything, I will always be there for you. And I support all your decisions no matter what you do.”
Jon then commented on Hannah’s business by saying, “I'm extremely proud of her. We've really worked hard together, getting her to this point. I mean, it's baby steps along the way with managing her own business. So I put a good team in place to help her along the way. And eventually, she'll run her business by herself along with the team members we put in place.”
Where is Kate Gosselin?
There is no information available about Kate’s current status. She doesn't seem to be active on social media as well since her last Instagram post was from July 2020. However, a January report has stated that the mother-of-eight has started working as a nurse in North Carolina after gaining the license in June last year. Except Hannah and Collin, all six kids are under the former television personality’s custody and they live in a lakefront house in North Carolina’s Troutman.
The four bedrooms and five bathrooms property was purchased in 2018 for $750,000, which also comes with a small dock, a swimming pool, and a jacuzzi. Her children appear to love their home as in a TikTok video, Madelyn had reportedly said: “Sometimes I forget that I like the outdoors.”
