Where is Jo Anna Bernal now? 'Botched' Season 8 star Dr Paul Nassif gives patient medical tattoo to fix scars from deep plane facelift
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Jo Anna Bernal was left with scars and pigmentation on her jowls and neck as a result of a botched facelift.
Dr Paul Nassif removed as much scarred skin as possible before covering up the pigmented skin with medical tattoos.
Jo Anna was back to her normal routine 10 days after the medical tattooing and months after her operation. She underwent a deep-plane facelift before meeting Dr Nassif, which left her with dreadful scarring.
She had scars on both sides of her neck. Dr Nassif told her during her appointment that he could remove 50% of the scarring, but he surpassed both his and her expectations.
Her appearance was transformed by the medical tattooing. She is now more confident and gorgeous than ever. Jo Anna is now planning to get a matching tattoo with her daughter, Lianna.
Who is Jo Anna Bernal on 'Botched' Season 8?
Jo Ann was introduced as a patient who experienced a surgical mishap. Her neck looked like it had been burned.
Following a disastrous deep-plane facelift, the pigmentation was removed, leaving a white impression. The Marketing Director of Paradise Village Resort and Spa underwent breast augmentations as well.
Jo Anna noted that she had a deep-plane facelift performed by a highly regarded cosmetic surgeon for $8,000. Her face was bloated and red within days, and her incision lines were blistering.
Her surgeon informed her that she had nothing to be concerned about, but when pus began to leak from her wounds, Jo Anna realized it was time to be concerned.
Jo Anna lives in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, where the sun shines all day, so she has to wear sunscreen at all times. The sunscreen accentuates the scars and makes them worse. She couldn't, on the other hand, let the sunlight fall on her scars.
What happened to Jo Anna Bernal on 'Botched' Season 8?
Jo Anna went to the 'Botched' doctors, hoping that something might be done to her scars to make them less visible.
During her visit, Dr Nassif examined her skin and the scar, which alarmed him. He noted Jo Anna's skin was rather tight. He sought to improve the appearance of certain unsightly scars.
Dr Nassif began Jo Anna's operation by creating incisions in the center of the scars and undermining the tissue.
He raised the surrounding tissue to examine the skin laxity and pushed it together to subsequently cut away the surplus skin after producing skin laxity around the scar.
This helped in removing as many of the scars as possible. Finally, he used two layers of sutures to seal the incision and reduce the stress on it.
He scheduled a medical tattoo once she healed, leaving Jo Anna with minimal scarring on both sides of her neck. Even though there was some post-surgery tension, Dr Dubrow looked pleased with the results.
Ruth, a tattoo artist, was called in by Dr Dubrow to work on Jo Anna's scars after surgery. Jo Anna found the six weeks of recovery following surgery to be a breeze.
The scars went flat and healed. Then there was the neck tattoo, which was a first for Jo Anna.
How much does Dr Paul Nassif charge for a deep-plane facelift?
Dr Nassif offers a deep-plane facelift service, which costs a staggering $75,000, he revealed on the 'Botched' episode.
A facelift can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000, depending on what has to be done and the surgeon's abilities.
