'Murder on Middle Beach': Where is Jeffrey Hamburg now and what happened to him after Barbara Beach's death?

Unlike other true-crime documentaries, 'Murder on Middle Beach' doesn't focus exclusively on Barbara's death only

On March 3, 2010, Barbara Beach Hamburg was found dead in her Connecticut house. When her body was found by her sister and daughter it was covered with outdoor furniture cushions. Barbara's husband Jeffrey Hamburg was the suspect in the case, though he was never charged with her murder, he was jailed for monetary frauds.

HBO is all set to release its mini docuseries on Sunday, November 15, 'Murder on Middle Beach' which is a moving journey of Barbara's life and murder, and how her family dealt with the aftermath of her death. The show exposes Barbara's vexed relationship with her ex-husband, Jeffrey and her brutal murder. Even though the show revealed a lot of aspects of Barbara's life and the tragedies it followed, several questions about their relationship popped. The show is directed by Madison Hamburg, the 29-year-old son of Barbara.

The couple got married in 1989 and in 2002 they got divorced. In the following years, between their separation and her death, Barbara claimed that her ex-husband was unable to pay the alimony and child support payments. Apart from that, he stole nearly $100,000 from his children's trust accounts from 2008 to early 2010.

According to a 2012 news story by Patch, it was revealed that Hamburg, was sent to jail in 2010 because he failed to pay anything toward the $138,000 he owes to his daughter, Ali (also known as Barbara)." Back in 2010, Jeffrey was interrogated, and later arrested and charged with first-degree larceny. Police say this was in relation to funds he was allegedly stealing from his family. When it came to Barbara's murder, he was never charged with anything. In 2014, a New Haven Register Journalist tweeted, "RT @nhregister: Madison cops arrest Jeffrey Hamburg, the ex-husband of slain resident Barbara Hamburg, on larceny charge," along with a CNN's story link, which is now unavailable.

According to the court documents obtained, "On July 14, 2015, the defendant (Jefferey) filed an objection to the substitute plaintiff's application for an order to show cause in which he claimed that he was sixty-six years old, has a debilitating back injury, was unemployed, and did not have the financial ability to pay the funds requested by the substitute plaintiff."

Barbara's murder remains unresolved. It is not known where Jeffrey is at the present time, we will update its article once we have more information.
