Where is Cecily Aguilar now? Only living suspect in Vanessa Guillen's murder case sentenced to 30 years in prison
WACO,TEXAS: Cecily Aguilar, the woman indicted in relation to the 2020 murder of Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen has received a 30-year federal prison sentence.
In the sentencing hearing on Monday, August 14, investigators disclosed that a witness, who conversed with Cecily Aguilar, had divulged unsettling additional information concerning the murder of the female soldier in 2020.
Where is Cecily Aguilar now?
Aguilar chose not to proceed with a trial, as reported by KWTX. She is now facing a minimum of 30 years of imprisonment, along with the potential for a fine reaching $1 million.
Following her release from prison, there is a possibility of facing 12 years of federal supervision, according to KWTX.
How old is Cecily Aguilar now?
Aguilar, 25, pled guilty last year to one count of being an accessory after the fact and three counts of providing false information.
At the time, Aguilar's boyfriend, Spc. Aaron Robinson was accused of killing and dismembering Vanessa Guillen.
Robinson then allegedly got Aguilar to assist in disposing of Guillen's remains near Fort Cavazos, Texas, previously identified as Fort Hood.
As authorities closed in on Robinson in 2020, he died by suicide, leaving Aguilar as the sole individual charged in the Vanessa Guillen murder case.
What did Cecily Aguilar do to Vanessa Guillen?
In 2021, Aguilar faced a federal indictment consisting of 11 charges for aiding her former boyfriend, Army Specialist Aaron Robinson, in unlawfully modifying, destroying, mutilating, and concealing Vanessa Guillen's body.
This was an attempt to protect Robinson from being held accountable for bludgeoning Guillen to death with a hammer in the armory of Fort Cavazos military base in April 2020.
Her remains were discovered two months later.

In 2020, when authorities approached Robinson after analyzing cellphone records that indicated Robinson was the last person in contact with Guillen prior to her murder, Robinson took his own life.
Following this, Aguilar was swiftly apprehended and accused of being involved in a conspiracy to tamper with the evidence. She was formally indicted just 12 days after her arrest.
Who is Cecily Aguilar's husband?
Cecily was married to a soldier stationed at Fort Hood, named Keon Aguilar. Their marriage had become strained, and she was romantically involved with Spc. Aaron David Robinson. They hid the affair not only because Cecily Aguilar was cheating on her husband but also because their clandestine romance ran afoul of the Army's fraternization guidelines.
Why did Aaron Robinson kill Vanessa Guillen?
When Vanessa Guillen discovered the illicit relationship, the fear of being exposed prompted Aaron to fatally attack her with a hammer.
Following Vanessa Guillen's disappearance, Aguilar engaged with authorities on multiple occasions, consistently denying any knowledge of the situation.
However, upon the discovery of Vanessa's remains near the Leon River, Aguilar altered her statement, disclosing Robinson's responsibility for Vanessa's death.

After Vanessa's murder, Robinson purportedly sought Aguilar's assistance in disposing of the body and confessed the crime to her. Aguilar is accused of aiding Robinson in dismembering and burying the body.
Later, Aguilar claimed that Robinson compelled her at gunpoint to assist in burying Vanessa's remains. Nevertheless, documents from the time of her confession indicate that this assertion lacked credibility.
