One of the biggest rap songs of the year, 'WAP’ by Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion was in constant news since the day of the release and even after receiving flak from the trade pundits, the loyal fans showered their love and voted the song as the Best Song Rap/Hip-Hop at American Music Awards (AMAs) 2020.

Fans were expecting both the ladies to grace the stage to accept the award, however, only Megan landed on the stage without Cardi. Decked up in a short-green dress, she accepted the coveted award paired with a mini-speech. ‘WAP’ won against ‘Rockstar’ by DaBaby featuring Roddy Ricch, and ‘The Box’ by Roddy Ricch. Megan has scooped five nominations at AMAs 2020 whereas, Cardi scored three.

Social media users took to Twitter to react on the song winning the award. One user said, “As it should! WAP is a worldwide smash hit!! We love to see it. Congrats @iamcardib and @theestallion well deserved.” One user tweeted, “2 artists up for the award and the trashiest song of the year wins...this was a joke!”  Another added, “I mean im not surprised but tbh the song isn’t strong others coulda won.” One user asserted, ‘The box’ was better.”  One user spoke about Cardi B missing from the stage and said, “They should have skyped in Cardi B so her fans could have enjoyed her speech.”
