Where is Angel Overstreet? Father Shannon Overstreet claims he gave 3-month-old to CPS
HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA: The father of a three-month-old child was arrested on Monday, May 24 on charges of wounding and battery in the town of Huntington. Shannon Overstreet's daughter Angel Nichole Overstreet has been missing since May 1 and Shannon claims that he had handed his child over to Child Protection Services (CPS).
However, there is no record of the baby on the CPS. The police did not inform further details regarding the charges against Shannon but did confirm that they were not related to his missing daughter. While Angel has reportedly been missing since May 1, a report was filed only this week.

Where is Angel Overstreet?
Angel Overstreet continues to be missing. She is described as an infant girl with blue eyes and dark-colored reddish hair who has a strawberry-shaped birthmark on the back of her neck. Ray Cornwell, the Huntington Police Chief explained that Amber Alert wasn't 'applicable' to Angel. Cornwall told, "Mr Overstreet was located here in Huntington and came to police headquarters here on May 24," and added, "He had stated to CPS previously and to our detectives that he had relinquished custody of the child two weeks prior to CPS from West Virginia. Child Protection Services from West Virginia has no knowledge or record of any transfer of custody of this child."
According to Huntington Police Captain Levi Livingston, many individuals did come forward with information. However, none of that helped track the 3-month-old's location, and at the moment, the police fear for the baby's safety. On May 26, Wednesday, Cornwell held a press conference where he informed that Angel was reported as missing since Monday, May 24 by the West Virginia CPS following an investigation into a custody battle involving Shannon in Kentucky.
According to the Western Regional Jail records, Shannon is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond on the felony charge and a $10,000 bond on the misdemeanor charge. The 38-year-old was booked on Monday, May 24. A day after Shannon's arrest, the local police asked the public's help to ensure the safe return of the child. Records from Shannon's phone indicated that he was last seen with his daughter on May 1.
Cornwell added about the amber alert: "We consulted with the office that issues those alerts and the West Virginia State Police. The Amber Alert System is used to put out information that is fresh, immediate and ongoing." Cornwell also said, "By the time the information came to us, the last known contact with the child was over two weeks away, so we did not have any fresh information or vehicle descriptions or anything like that. It was determined this situation did not qualify for an Amber Alert."
The next step would be to execute a search warrant at Shannon's residence in the state of Kentucky, with the assistance of the FBI and the US Marshals, Cornwell informed. The authorities are at the moment referring to Shannon as 'person of interest' in the missing infant's case. Cornwell said, "We are working with the Kentucky State Police to execute a search warrant at a property he owns in Olive Hill, Kentucky. We are working with the United States Marshals Service to locate any potential witnesses or persons that may have knowledge related to the location of this child."
Cornwell added, "we are working with the FBI. They are assisting us with digital forensics and have offered any other additional resources that we may need. We are also working with the West Virginia Intelligence Fusion Center regarding digital forensics." It was also revealed that the officials are in touch with the baby's mother who is said to have not been in the same area when the baby went missing. Information regarding the mother was not released by the authorities.
