Where are Charlie Jeer and Katherine LaPrell now? 'THTH' Season 6 runner-ups surprise fans with relationship update
TKCA 1ZZ, TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS: Charlie Jeer and Katherine LaPrell were one of the most talked-about couples in Season 6 of 'Too Hot to Handle', despite the fact that they didn't formally start dating until Episode 5. Charlie and Katherine chose to pursue a romantic connection after the first four episodes left them feeling uneasy about their initial companions.
The pair emerged as one of the best on the program after overcoming a love triangle, including Lucy Syed. The two won each other over and agreed to see where things would go after the retreat, even if they did not wind up receiving the House vote for the ultimate prize.
However, were the demands of the outside world and the distance between them able to be overcome by the couple?
Indeed! After the show's production was over, Charlie formally asked Katherine to be his girlfriend, and the two have been a happy couple ever since, according to TODAY.com.
“I was very conscious not to make it official while we were on the show because I genuinely did care about her. I was interested in her and I wanted to see how real things were on the outside and then, you know, like I went out there sort of not knowing how it was gonna be going to see her, and it went really well,” Charlie said.
Charlie claims he "actually got down on one knee to ask her to be his girlfriend" after getting to know all of her friends and family in Los Angeles. In response to a question concerning difficulties encountered in the "outside world," Charlie states that not as many as he had anticipated.
He feels that he has a unique bond with Katherine.
“We don’t really argue too much. … One thing I love about our relationship is that I’ve never really been with someone who’s as confident in themselves as Katherine is, and for me — someone who’s very confident in myself — I can’t be with an insecure person because they project that insecurity onto me,” Charlie said.
Even though they live on different sides of the globe, the pair has been able to keep their faith in one another via FaceTimeing daily.
“I just feel like she’s someone who I can talk to about things, and that’s all you can really ask for,” Charlie says. “We’re both our own individuals doing our own thing in life, but that’s what I wanted from a relationship.”
'Too Hot to Handle' Season 6 fans as Charlie Jeer and Katherine LaPrell become solo surviving couple
Fans of 'Too Hot to Handle' were probably taken aback to see Charlie and Katherine in the last two episodes following their dramatic trip on the program, but in the months since production concluded, the two have continued to mature. Fans found out that Katherine and Charlie were the runners-up, placing second behind the winner pair, Brianna "Bri" Balram and DeMari Davis, after the Season 6 finale aired on Netflix on August 2.
On X, fans reacted to the news of the happy couple writing, "Happy for them but just found out that they are not together anymore. Damn, that winners curse still stands because Charlie and Katherine are still together." Another person chimed in, "I can't believe that Charlie and Katherine are the only couple still dating. I did not expect it."

Charlie Jeer and Katherine LaPrell navigating life together outside of 'Too Hot to Handle' villa
Charlie and Katherine were full of hope for their future together as they departed the 'Too Hot to Handle' retreat.
“Life’s been great. I’ve been out to LA twice to go and see her [and] she’s been over to Kent to see me [and] all my family,” Charlie exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the August 2, finale. “We went on holiday to Amsterdam while she was over here as well, and … we spent loads of quality time together.”
“To be honest, I really wanted to just spend the time after recording the show and before the show went out to get to know each other again,” he said.
“I think that, in the show, I was very mindful not to take things too far because I did know I liked her and I wanted to actually get to know her properly on the outside before I committed to being in a relationship or anything like that. I’m glad that I did.”
“I tell Kat I love her every day [and] she’ll tell me she loves me every day,” Charlie blushed.
“Genuinely, I’m really happy with Kat. I needed someone who was maybe a bit older than me [who had] a bit more life experience than me in certain areas and someone who actually pushes me.”
He added, “When I dated girls in the past, I hadn’t bothered committing myself to them because I genuinely didn’t feel like I was growing with them. I didn’t feel like I was learning anything with them. Everything [from the show] has caused me to grow in this relationship, and that’s what I wanted … and what I feel I’m getting out of it.”
Although they are now dating long distance—between London and Los Angeles—Charlie and Katherine are taking their time to decide what to do next.
“We’re taking it as it comes. Kat could definitely come over here for a bit [and] I could definitely go over there for a bit, but I’m slowing down [and] taking my time,” Charlie noted.
“We don’t need to rush anything. There is no rush, and there’s no pressure to make any decision or jumping to, ‘Oh, I’m going to drop my entire life and move out to LA’ or she’s going to drop her whole life and move to London.”
Charlie believes that having his own place gives him and "confident" Katherine the "freedom to be individuals."
“I actually think long distance kind of … enables us to be our own people,” he stated. “Then when we come together, it’s just amazing.”
Charlie Jeer and Katherine LaPrell don't regret losing 'Too Hot to Handle' prize fund
Charlie and Katherine tell PEOPLE they left the competition with something more than the title and $100,000 top prize: a strong connection.
"Looking back on it, the actual transformation that I went through during that process and I saw Katherine go through was incredible," Charlie said.
"When I walked in, I wasn't even looking for a relationship. I actually wasn't open to one whatsoever... And so, it's like you get Yin and Yang and put them together, and you have this beautiful relationship that we've created."
"What matters to me is the relationship I'm in," he added. "And if you actually look at what the show's about, we won. I feel that way genuinely when I'm with Katherine."
Katherine continued, "After the show, he would just reassure his feelings for me every day. We spoke to each other every day. There were no doubts that I had with him turning his head because of the way that he would tell me that he felt about me. There's so much trust in our relationship. I'm not an insecure person at all, but I know that I trust him one hundred percent with my whole heart, and he would never do anything to hurt me. And I wouldn't do the same to him either."
