A perfect crime thriller instead of a regular romantic flick during Valentine's week would add a special touch to the vacation, and for this romantic season, Netflix is releasing a gripping, chilling and edgy rendition of a film called 'Unlocked.' Directed by Tae-joon Kim, the film stars Chun Woo-hee, Yim Si-wan, and Kim Hie-won. Netflix is no stranger to presenting gripping and good thrillers. With films like 'Choose or Die' (2022), 'Bird Box' (2018) and 'Spiderhead' (2022), the streaming platform has presented groundbreaking concepts from time to time. And this time, the thriller would be based on a smartphone.

'Unlocked' is a Korean-language film based on the 2017 novel by Japanese writer Akira Shiga titled 'Sumaho o Otoshita dake,' which means 'I just dropped my smartphone.' This novel also served as the inspiration for the Japanese film 'Stolen Identity' (2018). And not every thriller needs a creepy monster or an unreal threat, this film is a real thriller with a very grounded and relatable core.
