Spoilers for 'The Stand' Episode 4

Episode 4 of the CBS All Access limited series, ‘The Stand’, based on Stephen King’s book of the same name, saw the impending conflict with Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård) build up further. Titled ‘The House of the Dead’, we saw Harold (Owen Teague) taking everyone by surprise by leading the crowd in electing the ruling council as permanent leaders for the community, all the while secretly plotting to murder Stu (James Marsden).

As we predicted, Harold is surprised by Nadine (Amber Heard), who first seduces him, and then tells him that she knows that he desperately wants to kill Stu and reveals that her mysterious benefactor -- Flagg -- wants to enlist Harold's help in taking out Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg) and the council.

In return for his cooperation with this plan, Nadine agrees to sexually gratify him (in all manners except intercourse -- she was after all to remain pure for Flagg). Meanwhile, the council privately decides to send three individuals -- Dayna (Natalie Martinez), Judge Farris (Gabrielle Rose), and Tom Cullen (Brad William Henke) -- from the community to spy on Flagg's rival community at Vegas and report back after the next lunar cycle.

We also see Harold and Nadine sneak into the town's ski patrol supply area to steal explosives used to trigger seasonal avalanches. However, things go wrong when they are discovered by Harold's friend on city watch, Teddy (Eion Bailey) -- Nadine shoots and kills him.

So, what will happen next?

Episode 5 of the show is called ‘Suspicious Minds’, and it is likely that (seeing the title), Mother Abagail will begin suspecting Nadine. After all, she too has supernatural powers, and it is likely that she would feel Flagg’s presence in her. At the same time, one has to wonder if Harold will lose his nerve after Teddy’s murder. Will he still continue with his promise to help Nadine in killing everyone for Flagg? Only time will tell.

Another important plot point for the coming episode will be the reconnaissance group that will visit Las Vegas. Flagg is a dangerous enemy to have. Will they be able to go undetected as they spy on his camp? It seems unlikely at best. What is more likely is that at least one of the three spies will get caught and die at Flagg’s hands. But even more horrific is the prospect that Flagg will gain control over their minds and will use them to disrupt Mother Abagail’s plans further.
